Job Description
Ready to build products that make a difference?
At EDF, our products are built through collaboration, shared ownership, and a passion for continuous improvement. We learn as we go, challenge ourselves to do better with every iteration, and focus on delivering real impact.
If you’re excited about developing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions and want to use your skills to help power a more sustainable future, we’d love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Our team builds AI powered solutions that enhance operational performance across Retail. Using data science, natural language processing, machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), GenAI and process mining, we map event sequences, infer happy and unhappy paths, detect deviations, identify root causes and recommend fixes. We then wrap this intelligence in an agentic AI layer that allows teams to interact with their data in natural language, or to deploy batch interventions or automated process implementation.
We’re looking for a Data Scientist (AI/ML) to join our team, designing and delivering products used across both customer-facing and operational teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in building data-driven products that are used at scale across the business.
- Explore and analyse data to frame problems, generate insights, and design impactful solutions
- Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable AI/ML products across the full product lifecycle
- Build and optimise solutions using LLMs and agentic frameworks
- Improve product performance through robust testing, evaluation and continuous monitoring
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and share best practice, driving meaningful outcomes
Who You Are
You’ll be a collaborative Data Scientist who enjoys turning ideas into production-ready solutions. To be successful in this role, you’ll be curious, pragmatic, and motivated by solving real-world problems, bringing:
- Strong foundations in Data Science, AI, or Machine Learning
- Experience across the full ML lifecycle (from experimentation to production)
- Knowledge of statistics and experimentation (e.g. hypothesis testing, causal thinking)
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with ML Operations and data engineering practices and tools (e.g. Data Build Tool, Airflow, Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD)
- Interest in building and optimising solutions using Large Language Models and agentic frameworks
- A continuous learning mindset and strong problem-solving skills
Pay, Benefits and Culture
This is a hybrid role, primarily home-based, with occasional travel to either our London or Hove offices.
Alongside a competitive salary, potential for an annual bonus, and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days and more.
