Team Summary

The IQ team is dedicated to the design, development, and support of image quality (IQ) firmware for camera pipelines. Our primary goal is to ensure reliable image quality across lighting conditions and vendor platforms, contributing to the overall success of the company's products and services.

Job Summery

As an IQ Software Engineer you will play a key role in designing, developing, and tuning image quality (IQ) firmware and algorithms for camera pipelines. This position focuses on implementing advanced AE/AWB and day-night transition solutions, ensuring reliable image quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • IQ Firmware Development: designs, implements, and tunes AE/AWB and day-night transition algorithms for camera/sensor pipelines, ensuring high image quality and reliability.
  • Vendor SDK/API Integration: integrates and adapts vendor-specific DSP/ISP SDKs and APIs, reading and building upon vendor reference/sample code.
  • Integration Testing and Validation: designs and runs on-device integration test scenarios to verify IQ behavior, since many IQ issues are only observable in integration rather than unit tests.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: identifies and resolves complex IQ/camera pipeline issues, ensuring stability across lighting conditions and hardware variants.
  • System Integration: collaborates with hardware, DSP vendor and software teams to integrate and validate camera/IQ components end-to-end.
  • Continuous Improvement: evaluates and adopts new vendor SDKs, tools and tuning methodologies to enhance IQ development and testing processes.
  • Technical Support: provides guidance to the team and resolves technical issues that arise during IQ integration or field use.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of commercial development experience in C, C++, Python
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/computer science or related fields.
  • IQ Domain Expertise: solid understanding of AE (auto exposure) and AWB (auto white balance) algorithms and day-night transition logic.
  • Experience with IQ domain terminology and concepts.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded/firmware development.
  • Vendor SDK / API Integration: strong experience working with vendor-specific DSP/ISP SDKs and APIs.
  • Experience in reading, understanding and adapting vendor sample/reference code.
  • Understanding of embedded hardware, sensors and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Testing & Debugging: experience in validating and debugging IQ behavior mainly through integration/on-device testing, since IQ behavior is often not coverable by unit tests (unlike typical SDE work).
  • Proficiency in using debugging tools for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • English Level B1+/B2

Nice to have

  • Experience with embedded Linux platforms relevant to camera/DSP pipelines.
  • Knowledge of automated/integration testing frameworks and methodologies for embedded IQ systems.
  • Experience scripting for tuning automation, log analysis or test orchestration (Python, Bash).
  • Experience optimising power consumption for embedded systems in battery-operated devices.

We offer multiple benefits that include

  • The environment of equal opportunities, transparent and value-based corporate culture, and an individual approach to each team member
  • Competitive compensation and perks
  • Opportunity to receive a Performance Bonus for your individual achievements and a Loyalty Bonus recognizing your dedication to the company
  • Gig-contract
  • 21 paid vacation days per year, paid public holidays according to Ukrainian legislation
  • Development opportunities like corporate courses, knowledge hubs, and free English classes as well as educational leaves
  • Medical insurance is provided from day one. Sick leaves and medical leaves are available
  • Free meals, fruits, and snacks when working in the office.
