Full description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout the Memphis area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established commercial general contractor and take ownership of projects from preconstruction through final completion.

The ideal candidate has a strong background with a commercial general contractor, proven experience managing complex construction projects, and the leadership skills to oversee project teams while maintaining budgets, schedules, quality standards, and strong client relationships.

Responsibilities• Lead commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout

  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, procurement plans, and execution strategies
  • Serve as the primary liaison between owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, submittals, and project documentation
  • Manage subcontractor bidding, procurement, contract administration, and change orders
  • Monitor project costs, financial performance, forecasting, and profitability while proactively mitigating project risks
  • Partner with Superintendents and field leadership to maintain schedules, resolve issues, and ensure successful project execution
  • Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout all project phases
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and applicable building codes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, scheduling updates, and client communications
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and support staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Successfully manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
  • 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience required
  • Experience managing commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, industrial, or institutional projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Previous experience working for a commercial general contractor or construction management firm is required
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, scheduling, cost control, procurement, contracts, and change orders
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, contract administration, and project financial management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience leading project teams and coordinating field operations, subcontractors, and consultants
  • Local Memphis-area candidates are strongly preferred
  • Experience limited to residential homebuilding or small-scale residential projects will not be considered
  • Must successfully complete professional reference checks and a pre-employment drug screening
