Quality Assurance Line Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure compliance to the factory Food Safety Plan (HACCP)
  • Partner with shift supervisors and plant management to promote Food Safety/Quality Culture and enhance Food Safety awareness through daily coaching and scheduled training
  • Ensure compliance to all company policies & procedures pertaining to Food Safety and Quality

including but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation & Housekeeping, Equipment & Facility Maintenance, etc.

  • Enforce GMP compliance through coaching and other appropriate means for:

Production supervisors, factory employees, contractors and visitors

  • Ensure compliance to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) including proper documentation (completion, control, and retention)
  • Conduct Food Safety and Quality testing as necessary- for example, but not limited to, swabbing, metal detector challenges
  • Initiate, investigate, communicate, and follow-through on corrective actions for non-compliances. Maintain a corrective action tracking system to ensure non-compliances are resolved in a timely manner
  • Investigate consumer complaints
  • Conduct internal factory inspections-such as GMP, Food Safety, and Quality system audits
  • Manage QA records including but not limited to environmental sampling program, pest control program for the factory
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, or equivalent work experience - 2 years minimum in a production environment
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment-1 year minimum
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification and SQF Practitioner preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP required
  • Demonstrates sound technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Basic statistical skills preferred
  • Proven, reliable self-starter, able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills

Tuesday-Saturday 7am-3:30pm
