Job Description
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Lead product development (D&D) activities, including design project kickoffs, work-in-progress (WIP) reviews, and cost-reduction meetings.
- Collaborate closely with ES Design teams and Engineering to align on design intent, technical feasibility, and product expectations throughout the development process.
- Develop and manage comprehensive design specifications, including 3D geometry, materials, colors, surface finishes, etching, aesthetic details, play features, and overall play value.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development and Supply Chain, to ensure design requirements are successfully translated into high-quality production.
- Monitor prototype development, provide technical and aesthetic direction to model shops, manufacturing plants, and external model vendors to ensure functional and visual requirements are achieved.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends to drive innovation and enhance product development.
- Participate in ideation and brainstorming sessions, generate innovative concepts, and create concept sketches to support the Innovation Ventures team's mission of incubating and launching new brands, business models, and play experiences.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting product, packaging, and graphic design projects as needed, ensuring a consistent and engaging consumer experience across all design touchpoints.
- Development and design support for all new greenlit project for Innovation Ventures when needed.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree or Technical Institute diploma in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of product design experience, preferably in the toy or consumer products industry.
- Good sketching, rendering, and drafting skills (hand sketching and digital).
- Proficient in 2D and 3D design software.
- Strong knowledge of toy manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiar with AI design tools to support concept generation, visualization, and workflow efficiency.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively in English.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
