Senior Mobile Software Engineer (iOS / Android), Identity & Security

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Mobile Software Engineer (iOS / Android), Identity & Security based in India.

As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer, you’ll build secure, high-performance mobile applications focused on identity, authentication, and enterprise security. You’ll architect and deliver native iOS and Android features using Swift and Kotlin across authentication, password management, and identity verification products. The role combines deep mobile engineering with security-sensitive integrations such as biometrics, secure storage, autofill, and modern authentication protocols. You’ll work closely with backend and platform teams to build resilient experiences that protect enterprise identities at scale. Quality is central to the role, with ownership of automated testing, release pipelines, telemetry, troubleshooting, and production reliability. You’ll also help shape AI-assisted engineering practices while mentoring other engineers and contributing to technical design decisions. Working remotely within India, you’ll join a distributed engineering environment focused on solving complex technical and security challenges.

Accountabilities

• Architect, develop, test, and ship high-performance native mobile features across iOS and Android applications.

• Build capabilities for mobile authentication, password management, identity verification, and enterprise security.

• Implement security-sensitive mobile integrations, including credential provider and autofill frameworks, biometric authentication, secure storage, and authentication protocols such as OIDC and OAuth2.

• Work with platform and backend engineering teams to integrate mobile applications with secure APIs and identity services.

• Develop and maintain unit, UI, integration, and end-to-end test coverage using technologies such as XCTest, Espresso, and modern mobile automation frameworks.

• Own mobile release processes for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, maintaining reliable and repeatable CI/CD workflows.

• Monitor production applications using crash reporting and telemetry platforms, investigate issues, and contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews.

• Participate actively in incident management, taking ownership of troubleshooting and driving timely resolution of production issues.

• Contribute to technical architecture discussions, RFC reviews, engineering standards, and shared technical libraries.

• Promote structured AI-assisted development practices using tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.

• Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and help establish effective engineering practices across the mobile team.

• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production alerts during assigned shifts.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of professional software development experience, primarily focused on native mobile application development.

• Expert-level proficiency in Swift or Kotlin, with strong working knowledge of or willingness to develop across both iOS and Android.

• Deep understanding of mobile security and encryption, including App Transport Security, network security configuration, certificate-pinning trade-offs, jailbreak/root detection, and cryptographic best practices.

• Hands-on experience implementing secure mobile authentication, biometrics, credential providers/autofill, and hardware-backed storage technologies such as Keychain, Keystore, and Secure Enclave.

• Strong experience with OIDC, OAuth2, RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and reactive mobile architectures.

• Proven ability to develop unit, UI, integration, and end-to-end tests using XCTest, Espresso, or comparable automation frameworks.

• Experience establishing mobile CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bitrise, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.

• Familiarity with crash reporting and production telemetry platforms such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.

• Previous experience developing enterprise security, password vault, multi-factor authentication, identity, or comparable security-focused applications.

• Experience with native desktop extensions or cross-platform security modules is advantageous.

• Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.

• Backend development experience with Go or comparable languages is beneficial.

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with the ability to take ownership of complex technical issues.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with distributed engineering teams.

• Comfortable mentoring colleagues, reviewing technical designs, and contributing to engineering standards.

• Fluent written and spoken English, as English is the primary language used for internal collaboration and the recruitment process.

• Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
