Financial Accounting Analyst

Our company exists to promote and protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We design, build, and support security and intelligence products. Our core expertise is in small, lightweight, low-cost radar systems for unmanned and manned aircraft, primarily in the military domain. We cover the entire lifecycle, often beginning with defining a market where none exists, designing and building the product, training the customer on how to use the system, and supporting it in the field.

We have an exciting opportunity and are looking to hire a Financial Accounting Analyst. This position will report to the Sr. FPA Accountant and will play an important role in the growth and stability of IMSAR. This role will primarily focus on budget analysis, cost forecasting, and supporting payroll processing, alongside standard general ledger accounting duties. In addition to smarts, skills, and experience, we're after someone who is a healthy fit-someone who aligns with our company core values.

These are our values, and they define how we behave and how you can succeed with our company:

  • All in - we're all in the same boat
  • Stand up - we stand accountable with integrity
  • Can-do - innovate with a can-do attitude

We need someone with smarts, skills, enthusiasm, and drive. The accounting team is small but capable. You'd be offering your input on how to build and grow this team, streamline financial tracking, and support payroll while keeping costs low and complying with GAAP and DCAA guidelines.

Required Attributes:

  • At least a BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience in accounting or FP&A
  • High attention to detail and ability to consistently comply with regulations, policies, and federal accounting guidelines

Important Skills and Responsibilities:

  • An active CPA license, or working toward one
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint software (especially labor, payroll, and core accounting modules) is preferred
  • Performing budget-to-actual variance analysis, department spend tracking, and forecasting operational costs
  • Establishing and analyzing costs of business processes such as labor rates, administration, and program overhead
  • Performing account reconciliations, particularly payroll liabilities, accruals, and GL accounts
  • Recommending cost-control measures and process improvements to maximize profit and keep project budgets on track
  • Presenting budget insights and payroll reporting to the accounting team and leadership

We like to take care of our team members. Here's what you can expect from us:

  • A competitive salary
  • Flexible schedule options
  • A profit-sharing bonus, a 401k match, and employer HSA contributions
  • An excellent benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • 100% company-paid Short- and Long-Term disability and Life insurance
  • PTO, plus 11 holidays off throughout the year including the week between Christmas and New Year's
