Full description

At Fiskars Group we are unified and driven by our common purpose: pioneering design to make the everyday extraordinary. Join our team and seize the extraordinary opportunity to influence the everyday!

Fiskars Group's Digital and IT team is looking for a Data & GenAI Engineer to join our team!

In this role you will be responsible for translating business architecture into data architecture using common data management and architecture standards and best practices, while also helping build Fiskars' internal GenAI capabilities — including LLM-powered agents and tools that make use of our data. The role combines core Data Engineering (pipelines, modelling, warehousing) with hands-on GenAI application development (agents, MCP, LLM integration).

The role will work closely with key stakeholders such as Subject Matter Experts, Business Key Users, Vendors, Development and Portfolio Management, IT project manager(s), Domain Architect, Solution Managers and other Data Engineers.

Key responsibilities

  • Data modelling, data warehousing, databases and ETL/ELT
  • Designing and building LLM-based agents and tools (e.g. via Microsoft Foundry, VS Code AI tooling, or similar) that connect to and reason over Fiskars data, including via MCP (Model Context Protocol), RAG or comparable integration patterns
  • Implementing AutoML solutions (e.g. via Microsoft Fabric or Databricks) as required by solution design
  • Prototyping and iterating on internal AI use cases — turning business needs into working AI-assisted tools
  • Seeing the big picture and breaking complex ideas and needs into logical steps, through a documented, usable blueprint
  • Managing data architecture by upholding solid guidelines
  • Sharing knowledge and educating on data architecture, data pipeline development, and emerging AI/agent tooling
  • Establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships that foster staying current with industry tools, best practices, and continuous improvement
  • Solution development within timelines and best practices; solution transfer to AMS Team and 2nd Level support

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience working with ETL systems, data modelling or analytics software
  • Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with GenAI/LLM application development (agents, tool-calling, MCP, RAG or similar) and/or AutoML tools (e.g. Fabric, Databricks) and/or Microsoft Agentic Framework would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with different kinds of source systems and data source formats
  • Can-do spirit and strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, customer-service attitude
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Fluent English skills
