Job Description
Salesforce Software Engineer At WGU, technology plays a critical role in helping us deliver exceptional experiences for students, faculty, and staff. As a Salesforce Software Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize Salesforce solutions that support key business initiatives while helping drive innovation across our CRM ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, SOQL, and related web technologies.
- Design, build, test, and support Salesforce integrations with third-party products and legacy systems.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance across highly available 24/7 systems.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, functional software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile development practices, including planning, estimation, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members while promoting engineering best practices.
What You'll Bring
- 6+ years of experience developing Salesforce solutions using Apex, SOQL, and Visualforce.
- 6+ years of experience working with web services and integrations, including REST and SOAP APIs.
- Proficiency with front-end technologies including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile development environments.
Bonus Points
- Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I certifications.
- Experience with Copado, Visual Studio Code, GitHub, Jira, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of MuleSoft, Marketo, SQL, Oracle, Education Cloud, and integration middleware.

Work Location
This is a full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week in our Phoenix, Arizona office, designed to foster the collaboration and connection that fuel our best work.

Travel Requirement
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
