WHO WE ARE The Colorado Floor Company has served Colorado home builders and families since 1988. We provide cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting, stairs, trim, doors, and window coverings for production, semi-custom, custom home builders and general contractors.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of flooring projects from project kickoff through completion. This role serves as the primary field liaison the company, builders, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in accordance with customer expectations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage assigned flooring projects from pre-installation through final completion.
- Provide technical guidance to installation crews regarding layouts, installation methods, transitions, product applications, and jobsite best practices.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with builders, superintendents, trade partners, and customers.
- Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor installation quality, project progress, and compliance with company standards.
- Identify, document, and communicate jobsite issues, deficiencies, delays, and change requests to appropriate stakeholders.
- Coordinate timely resolution of field issues while minimizing project disruptions.
- Manage project schedules and maintain accurate project calendars, including rescheduling activities as necessary.
- Coordinate material deliveries, inventory needs, and jobsite material management to support project timelines.
- Maintain EPOs and ensure accurate documentation and communication throughout each project.
- Monitor and utilize Power BI reports and other project management tools to track project performance, productivity, scheduling, and outstanding items.
- Complete post-installation inspections and conduct next-day punch visits to verify quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure punch list items are completed accurately and within established timelines.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Scheduling, Purchasing, and Accounting to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, job notes, photographs, and communication records.
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance customer experience.
- Maintain professionalism while representing the company on customer job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years of project management, construction, flooring, or related industry experience.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and jobsite operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to learn and utilize company software, reporting tools, and project management systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently walk active construction jobsites and uneven terrain.
- Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and occasionally climb ladders.
- Frequently operates a motor vehicle while traveling between jobsites.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to use computers, tablets, mobile devices, and standard office equipment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position regularly works in both office and active construction environments. Exposure to dust, noise, construction equipment, changing weather conditions, and uneven walking surfaces should be expected. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while visiting jobsites.
