Senior Data & Analytics Analyst – Vendor & Category Performance
Position Summary
The Senior Data & Analytics Analyst plays a key role in advancing Patterson’s data-driven culture through business intelligence, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. This role partners with Vendor Management, Category Management, Marketing, Finance, Sales, and executive leadership to transform enterprise data into actionable insights that improve vendor, product, customer, and commercial performance.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical analytics skills with business and financial acumen and can translate complex data into clear recommendations for both business leaders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Develop scalable reporting, dashboards, visualizations, and analytics solutions using enterprise data.
- Partner with business leaders to understand requirements, identify analytics gaps, and deliver actionable insights.
- Independently query, analyze, and interpret complex data using SQL and BI tools. Strong Data Fulfillment experience/knowledge
- Replace manual spreadsheet-based reporting with automated, scalable, and self-service solutions.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, data mining, and trend analysis to identify opportunities and risks.
Vendor, Product & Commercial Performance
- Analyze vendor, product, pricing, revenue, margin, volume, cost, and product-mix performance.
- Develop analytics supporting vendor management, category management, and commercial decisions.
- Analyze vendor rebates, incentives, and other commercial programs.
- Provide insights into customer acquisition, promotions, and marketing performance.
- Identify key drivers of performance and translate findings into business recommendations.
AI & Innovation
- Support the adoption of AI-enabled analytics and emerging BI/data capabilities.
- Explore opportunities to leverage GenAI, analytical copilots, and automation to improve reporting and decision-making.
- Help advance Patterson’s overall analytics maturity and self-service capabilities.
Business Partnership & Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to address business questions and opportunities.
- Communicate analytical findings through clear, executive-level presentations and detailed visualizations.
- Participate in larger cross-functional initiatives and continuously improve analytics processes and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, commercial analysis, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Strong SQL and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI or a comparable BI/reporting platform.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, data visualization, and data storytelling skills.
- Understanding of business and financial measures such as revenue, gross profit, margin, price, volume, cost, and product mix.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics and modern data platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vendor, supplier, category, product, pricing, promotional, rebate, or commercial analytics.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, Power BI semantic models, or DAX.
- Experience with GenAI, analytical copilots, or AI-enabled BI platforms.
- Experience working with third-party market or competitive data.
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, dental/medical device, CPG, retail, or other product-intensive industries.
Success in This Role
Success will be measured by reducing manual reporting, increasing automated and self-service analytics, improving visibility into vendor/product/customer performance, accelerating executive reporting, and delivering actionable insights that influence vendor, category, marketing, and commercial decisions.

Environmental Factors
This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
$85,500.00 - $113,966.67
