PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions partner that develops, implements and maintains mission-critical solutions for federal and local government agencies.

PURVIS has an immediate opening for an Oracle Cloud Architect who is willing to step into the role of Troubleshooting Coordinator. We are looking for a candidate who can engage simultaneously with Network, Application, Systems and Vendors. This is a hybrid cloud environment and often Architecture involves multiple domains.

This position is a hybrid role that requires some time at our client's location in Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities and Qualifications include:Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Advanced)

  • Should be well versed with CLI, Block storage, file storage and object storage and integrating each of them with OCI compute.
  • Advanced storage use cases like mounting Object Storage on Compute instances, File Storage Backups.
  • Developing APIs for Application access to Buckets
  • Developing Functions to automate scheduled processes. (convert Cron based jobs to Functions)
  • Cloud Security including IAM, WAF, Security Lists and NSGs.
  • Experience with handling cloud metrics/logging to troubleshoot outages and monitoring user activity. Splunk experience is highly preferred.

Linux System administration (advanced)

  • System configurations for application integration.
  • Working with Developers for application impact/remediations related to fixing security vulnerabilities.
  • Custom integration of application and OS logs with Splunk or another.
  • Remediating application/OS threat from SIEM.
  • Python, shell scripting.

Windows Administration experience (intermediate)

  • Experience with IIS, installation of applications.
  • Familiarity of MS SQL Server & Backups (intermediate experience).
  • Configuring SMTP for application email alerts.

Ansible Automation (mandatory)

  • Experience writing Ansible playbooks for Linux application installations, patching, OS State management.
  • Creating and maintaining playbooks for Windows automation – including rebooting, application installation, time sync operations. AD integration.
  • Creation of custom inventories for Cloud resources.
  • Troubleshooting DevOps procedures (GitHub Actions, Jenkins and Ansible)

Containerization and Kubernetes

  • In depth experience containerizing existing application stack into micro-services
  • Build and manage Kubernetes clusters using cloud native tools, RedHat OpenShift.
  • Create a steady state support readiness process.
  • Consolidate application and container logs with standard logging services.
  • Creating dashboards for metrics using Grafana, ELK stack and Kubernetes-dashboard.
  • Creating DevOps process for Blue/Green and Canary deployments
