QA Automation Engineer

-Onsite Kuala Lumpur   We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web and API applications. You will work closely with developers and product managers to improve test coverage, integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure smooth, reliable releases.

​Key Responsibilities

• ​Framework & Script Development: Design, execute, and maintain automated UI and functional test scripts using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or modern record-and-playback solutions (e.g., Katalon, Testim, Selenium IDE).

• ​API Testing: Create automated test scripts to validate RESTful APIs and backend services using Postman, Rest-Assured, or similar frameworks.

• ​CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab) for automated build verification and regression runs.

• ​Test Strategy & Design: Analyze business requirements, craft detailed test plans, and write clear, reusable test cases.

• ​Defect Management: Identify, log, and track software defects in Jira or equivalent bug-tracking tools, working closely with developers toward resolution.

• ​Cross-Browser & Platform Testing: Conduct automated regression, smoke, and cross-browser testing to ensure consistent performance across web browsers and devices.

• ​Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and adopt new QA automation tools, codeless/record-playback platforms, or AI-driven testing solutions to accelerate test execution.

​Required Qualifications

• ​Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• ​Core Automation Tools: Proven experience with Selenium WebDriver or modern web automation tools like Playwright or Cypress.

• ​Record & Playback Tools: Experience with codeless or low-code automation tools (e.g., Katalon Studio, Selenium IDE, Testim, or Leapwork).
• ​Programming Skills: Solid proficiency in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript).

• ​API Testing: Experience testing and validating APIs (REST / JSON).

• ​Version Control: Familiarity with Git for managing test code repositories.

• ​Agile/Scrum: Strong understanding of Agile methodology, sprint planning, and test management tools like Jira.

​Nice-to-Have Skills

• ​Familiarity with database/SQL queries for backend data validation.

• ​Exposure to mobile app automation (Appium) or performance testing tools (JMeter, K6).

• ​Knowledge of BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Behave.
• ​Experience setting up containerized test environments using Docker.
