Job Description
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

In this role, you will, build and support business-critical Compliance and Regulatory Technology platforms. You will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient solutions using modern engineering practices, working closely with business and technology teams to deliver high-quality software, drive innovation, and ensure regulatory compliance. This practical role includes application development, microservices architecture, testing, production support, and continuous improvement of digital platforms.
To be successful as a Senior Java Developer - AVP, you should have:
- Considerable practical experience in Core Java, including multithreading, concurrency, performance optimization, and development of high-quality, scalable applications
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful microservices using Spring Boot, ELK, Spring Security, Spring Cloud patterns, OpenAPI standards, and service-oriented architecture principles
- Considerable database and integration expertise, including PL/SQL, schema design, query optimization, and microservices integration, JMS, KAFKA & persistence using JPA, Hibernate, and Spring Data
- Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms, with solid understanding of Docker, cloud-native development, and resilient distributed systems
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitLab Duo), Git-based source control, automated quality gates, production support, log analysis, root cause investigation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Other highly valued skills include:
- Experience with modern cloud platforms, including OpenShift, AWS, delivering scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions
- AI-first mindset with a passion for leveraging AI and intelligent automation to enhance engineering productivity, improve software quality, and enable governed agentic and workflow-driven solutions
- Good Python development experience, with the ability to build, integrate, and automate business and technology solutions
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery practices, with practical experience working within Scrum and Kanban frameworks to deliver value iteratively and efficiently
- Continuous improvement mindset, embracing emerging technologies, modern engineering practices, and data-driven ways of working to accelerate business outcomes

Minimum Salary: $120,000
Maximum Salary: $175,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
