Position Overview

The Topside Project Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the FPSO topsides scope, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, company standards, safety expectations, and business objectives.

The role leads and integrates all topsides activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, module integration, mechanical completion, commissioning, and handover, ensuring effective coordination across disciplines, packages, contractors, and key interfaces with the hull, marine systems, and overall FPSO.

Acting as a key interface with clients, contractors, vendors, yards, and internal stakeholders, the Topside FPSO Manager drives safe execution, schedule and cost performance, technical integrity, constructability, interface management, and delivery strategy, providing leadership across a complex, multi-disciplinary and matrix project environment.

Key Responsibility

Project Delivery and Execution Leadership

  • Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to close-out, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Define and execute project strategy, execution plans, and delivery frameworks aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure overall project performance across scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

Topside Construction, Fabrication and Integration

  • Provide leadership and oversight of topsides fabrication, module construction, assembly, erection, integration, and completion activities across fabrication yards and project locations.
  • Ensure construction activities are supported by timely engineering deliverables, materials, equipment, work packs, and approved procedures.
  • Drive constructability and construction readiness, identifying and resolving constraints that could impact fabrication or integration.
  • Coordinate topsides integration with the FPSO hull, marine systems, utilities, process systems, and other project packages.

Commercial and Contract Management

  • Manage project financial performance including cost control, cash flow, and revenue optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and proactively manage deviations, claims, and changes.
  • Support commercial decision-making and optimize project outcomes.

Planning, Risk, and Performance Control

  • Establish project plans, schedules, and control mechanisms to ensure disciplined execution.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and uncertainties impacting delivery.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as required.

Stakeholder and Client Management

  • Act as the primary interface with clients, ensuring effective communication, reporting, and relationship management.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations across internal teams, partners, and external parties.
  • Lead engagement with key stakeholders to support project delivery and alignment.

Cross-functional Integration

  • Drive alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Ensure integration of project activities to support efficient and coordinated execution.
  • Maintain visibility and coordination across all project functions.

HSSE, Quality, and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to HSSE and quality standards across all project activities.
  • Promote a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Ensure all operations meet regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.

Team Leadership and Capability Development

  • Build and lead high-performing project teams with appropriate skills and resources.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10~15 years of experience in EPC / Oil & Gas / Offshore or large-scale industrial project environments
  • Proven experience in leading large, complex projects across multiple disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning)
  • Strong understanding of contract management, risk management, and project commercial management
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with clients and managing external stakeholders in international project environments
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, offshore, shipbuilding, energy or related industries is a strong advantage
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in a matrix organization and project-based business environment
  • Fluent English communication required
