Who We’re Looking For
The Director of Quality Engineering will be responsible for owning the enterprise testing strategy and engineering from execution-focused testing to a proactive, risk-based quality strategy across SLDC and AI DLC.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and drive the overall testing and quality engineering strategy across products and platforms at Toyota Financial Services.
- Establish enterprise testing best practices and standards that align with the new Agile Delivery model and ensure they are followed across the domains.
- Shift Testing left, embedding quality throughout design, development, deployment, and operations.
- Define the right balance of automated, manual, integration, performance, security, resilience, and production testing.
- Collaborate with the Product and Platform teams to ensure a stable test environment for enterprise-level execution.
- Explore and help roll out a test data management solution for test data generation and reservation.
- Create a test release coordination plan with the domains to limit test downtime during core testing hours.
- Standardize and roll out the model for Scenario Validation Testing (SVT) and End-to-End (E2E) Testing at the enterprise level.
- Work with the Test Lead in each domain to thoroughly assess the maturity and business need for test automation.
- Collaborate with the Domain Owner/Product Owner/Tech Lead/Test Lead to develop a test automation roadmap for the domain, considering critical applications, frequency of deployments, etc.
- Develop a method of capturing test automation return on investment (ROI) and monitor test fit to ensure execution efficiency.
- Manage the Enterprise Testing Horizontal Team budgets to ensure fiscal responsibilities.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant focus area.
- Progressive experience developing testing best practices and standards for both functional testing and non-functional testing.
- Experience forecasting and managing budgets.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, practices and tools which includes test automation frameworks.
- Strong expertise in product management and software development lifecycle.
- Experience and understanding of software and data testing techniques and best practices.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving skills with the ability to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Experience working in IT delivery and managing cross functional testing teams.
- Strong experience and knowledge in analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Added Bonus if you have
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Experience with cross functional SVT and E2E testing.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and the ability to align quality engineering practices with these approaches.
- Experience working in IT delivery or business management.
- Experience working in a financial and banking industry.
