Full description

About Us:

Datacor is the leading provider of software solutions, including ERP, CRM, Asset Tracking, Simulation and Formulation, to the process manufacturing space. We are on a mission to better equip the industry with software solutions and move it forward by building thoughtful, intuitive products that solve our customers’ most difficult problems.

We are passionate about serving our customers and helping them use data as a competitive advantage. Our customers make products that extend and sustain lives by sanitizing, fertilizing, beautifying, cleaning, and recycling the world we live in. We at Datacor help our customers make those products you use every day more safely, cost effectively and more efficiently through our technology platforms and applications.

The Role:

We're hiring a Solution Engineer to join our sales team, partnering directly with Account Executives to win new customers across the full Datacor ERP and add-on suite. This is a customer-facing, deal-critical role: you'll run discovery, design and deliver tailored demonstrations, and build the technical and business case that gets prospects to "yes." You'll carry a full pipeline of active opportunities and be expected to travel onsite up to 50% in the US and Canada for discovery sessions and executive-level demos.

This role sits within a growing Solution Engineering team built around repeatable, high-quality discovery and demo practices. You'll inherit established frameworks for discovery documentation, demo scoring, and SOW handoff, and be expected to sharpen them further.

What You'll Do:

  • Own technical discovery for sales opportunities: Running structured discovery calls and onsite sessions to uncover business process requirements across Supply Chain/Operations, R&D/Product Development, Regulatory/Quality, Sales/Customer Service, and Finance/Accounting.
  • Design and deliver tailored, discovery-led software demonstrations of Datacor ERP and relevant add-ons (WMS, MES, CRM, AI Automation Tools) that map directly to a prospect's stated pain points.
  • Travel onsite to prospect facilities to lead in-person discovery and executive/stakeholder demos while reading the room, adjusting on the fly, and building credibility with operations, finance, and IT leadership.
  • Translate discovery findings into structured documentation for handoff to the Datacor Services team ahead of Statement of Work (SOW) development.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle by qualifying deals, shaping win strategy, and addressing technical objections.
  • Build and present business cases that connect product capability to the prospect's operational and financial goals.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of the Datacor product suite and stay current on new features to identify cross-sell and configuration opportunities within deals.
  • Contribute to team infrastructure through demo environments, discovery templates, and best practices alongside fellow Solution Engineers.

What You Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Pre-Sales Engineer in an enterprise software environment.
  • Direct experience working with or selling into process manufacturing companies (chemical, food & beverage, life sciences, or similar batch/formula-based manufacturing). You understand batch production, formulation, lot traceability, and the operational language of a plant floor.
  • A demonstrated track record of running customer discovery and delivering sales demonstrations, including in person at customer sites; this is not a remote-only presales role.
  • Comfort owning a full, active pipeline of opportunities independently while collaborating tightly with an assigned Account Executive on each deal.
  • Strong ERP domain knowledge: You can speak credibly to Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Plan to Produce, and Finance/Reporting processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; equally comfortable in a plant manager's office and a CFO's boardroom.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly (up to 25%) for onsite discovery, demos, and customer visits.
  • A discovery-first mindset: you'd rather ask one more good question than skip straight to a feature tour.

Nice To Have:

  • Prior experience with Datacor ERP, or a comparable process/batch manufacturing ERP (e.g., ProcessPro, Aptean, SAP Business One for Process, Deacom, Microsoft Business Central).
  • Experience presenting to CFOs, controllers, and operations executives as economic buyers.
  • Exposure to WMS, MES, or EDI/integration scoping in a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered document automation or intelligent document processing tools.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Discovery sessions that surface real, prioritized pain, not just a feature checklist, documented clearly enough for the Services team to scope accurate SOWs.
  • Demos that consistently tie back to what the prospect said mattered, not a generic product tour.
  • A healthy, well-qualified pipeline with strong win rates on new logo opportunities.
  • Strong AE partnership: AEs trust you to represent the technical story and drive deals forward independently.

Why Join Datacor's Solution Engineering Team:

You'll join a team that treats presales as a craft, with real investment in discovery methodology, demo quality, and repeatable systems, not just "support the AE and hope for the best." You'll have direct input into how the team's processes evolve, and a clear growth path as the sales motion scales.

EOE Statement:
