Full description

Sr. Product Designer

Hatz AI is building the AI-native platform purpose-built for Managed Service Providers and the small businesses they serve, and we're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help make that platform feel as powerful as it is approachable. You'll join a small, high-output design team and work directly with product and engineering to own design across the full lifecycle: discovery, systems, and ship.

This is a high-ownership role for a designer who thrives at the intersection of technical complexity and human clarity: someone who can look at an agentic workflow or an LLM-powered feature and figure out how to make it feel obvious to the people who actually need to use it. This position is a hybrid role based in NYC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for core product areas, from early-stage discovery and user flows through production-ready specs and QA, with a weekly release cadence in mind.
  • Translate complex, AI-powered capabilities into interfaces that feel intuitive to non-technical MSP and SMB users.
  • Prototype quickly with Claude or other tools to test direction before committing engineering time, then move into Figma to build production-ready, developer-ready specs.
  • Contribute to the design system, building reusable components that scale as the product surface area grows, including closing gaps between what's in Figma and what ships.
  • Drive your own user research: plan and conduct discovery sessions with MSPs and SMB customers, synthesize findings, and feed real user needs directly into the design process.
  • Lead and contribute to our weekly design crit, presenting work in progress and iterating on fast feedback.
  • Partner closely with engineering and product to move fast and ship with intention, contributing to prioritization and scoping, not just execution.
  • QA your designs to ensure correct implementation.
  • Stay current with how AI product patterns are evolving, evaluating new interaction models for agentic UX, conversational interfaces, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Contribute to and help define design process, tooling, and rituals as the team scales.

What makes you a great fit

  • 5+ years of product or UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft, systems thinking, and shipped work across complex or technical products.
  • A track record of making technically sophisticated products feel simple: you've designed for data-dense, workflow-driven, or AI-powered environments before.
  • Fluency in Figma (component libraries, auto layout, prototyping) and comfort working in tools like Claude and v0 to move fast from concept to testable direction.
  • Experience conducting and synthesizing user research to ground design decisions in real-world needs rather than assumptions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills: you work directly with engineers and PMs, contribute to product conversations, and push back when it makes the work better.
  • Clear, confident communication: you can present and defend design decisions to stakeholders at any level.
  • Comfort in high-growth startup environments with frequent releases, shifting priorities, and a bias toward iteration over perfection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience designing AI-powered products (agentic workflows, LLM interfaces, RAG-driven features, or similar), from 0→1 or through meaningful growth stages.
  • You've used AI tools or low-code environments to explore ideas quickly without waiting for engineering.
  • Experience building or governing a design system used across multiple teams or product areas.
  • Experience with design tokens, and translating Figma variables into code-level tokens so design and engineering stay in sync as the system scales.
  • You have started shipping some of your own updates.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability insurance, and 401(k) with match; equity.
  • Hybrid schedule.
  • Unlimited paid vacation.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • A collaborative and inclusive work environment.

The salary range for this role is 130k-170k.
