This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Enterprise Sales Engineering - Public Sector/Southeast based in United States.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced sales engineering professional supporting enterprise and public-sector customers across the Southeast and DC region. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers while partnering closely with regional sales leadership. The role combines people leadership with hands-on technical expertise across cloud, containers, and security technologies. You will help customers evaluate solutions, demonstrate business and technical value, and develop effective technical sales strategies. Success will depend on building trusted customer relationships and aligning technical solutions with enterprise requirements. You will also influence product direction, sales enablement, competitive positioning, and go-to-market execution. This remote-first role is ideal for a strategic, technically fluent leader who thrives in a fast-moving technology environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Engineers, including setting performance goals, conducting evaluations, identifying development opportunities, and implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Recruit and staff Sales Engineering talent to support continued enterprise growth, partnering with recruiting and sales leadership to build a high-performing team.
  • Partner with regional Sales Leadership to develop and execute technical sales strategies, account plans, and customer engagement approaches.
  • Work directly with enterprise customers to understand technical requirements, provide expertise throughout the sales cycle, and help demonstrate and validate solution value.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to improve technical qualification, account coverage, opportunity quality, and handoffs throughout the sales process.
  • Stay current on enterprise technology trends, competitive solutions, cloud platforms, container technologies, and emerging security developments.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to Product Management to help shape product priorities and address evolving enterprise needs.
  • Partner with Marketing and other cross-functional teams to create technical sales collateral, presentations, datasheets, whitepapers, and other enablement resources.
  • Track and report key performance indicators, including technical wins and losses, proof-of-value timelines, and annual recurring revenue, using insights to improve team performance.
  • Monitor team expenses and manage resources in line with established budgets and business priorities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer supporting enterprise accounts, including at least 4+ years in a Sales Engineering leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless architectures.
  • Experience with major cloud technologies and platforms, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or comparable environments.
  • Background in cloud security and/or container security, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling customer value.
  • Experience using enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC and/or Command of the Message.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, recruit, hire, and develop high-performing Sales Engineering teams.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and a track record of building credibility and trusted-advisor relationships with enterprise stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams while influencing outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to use performance data to identify opportunities and make informed decisions.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can shift and creative solutions are required.
  • A collaborative leadership style, high degree of ownership, perseverance, and commitment to helping teammates succeed.
  • Must be located in the United States and reside in the DC or Southeast region.
