Accountabilities: The Principal Python Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and improving enterprise-grade applications and data-intensive platforms. This role requires strong ownership of software quality, system reliability, and technical problem-solving while collaborating with engineering, product, data, and infrastructure teams.
- Design, develop, and enhance complex Python-based applications, automation platforms, and distributed systems.
- Build secure, scalable, and highly available solutions that meet enterprise performance and reliability requirements.
- Participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Develop and optimize database solutions, including schema design, query performance improvements, and integration with relational database systems.
- Analyze complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
- Apply strong software engineering principles, including clean architecture, automated testing, CI/CD practices, and secure coding standards.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective software solutions.
- Support operational excellence by improving system resilience, monitoring, and performance.
- Contribute to engineering best practices and help raise the technical standards across development teams.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings deep Python expertise, strong software engineering fundamentals, and experience building reliable enterprise applications. They should be comfortable working independently, solving complex technical problems, and collaborating across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of professional Python development experience in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience developing and supporting large-scale production applications with high availability requirements.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including query optimization and schema design.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and computational efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with application design, development, automated testing, debugging, and production support.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflows, application resiliency practices, and secure development standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in dynamic environments while maintaining strong communication and organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong shell scripting skills and experience working in UNIX/Linux environments preferred.
- Familiarity with Python data and machine learning libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch preferred.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native technologies such as S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue preferred.
- Experience applying mathematical and statistical concepts within software solutions is a plus.
