A consultancy supporting a major retailer is seeking an experienced contractor for a 3–4 month engagement to lead the development of country/local plans across its European markets.
The role will translate central strategy and local market insight into practical, market-specific plans, working closely with Country Leads and key stakeholders. It will also establish a repeatable process, including templates, governance and handover materials, so the capability can be managed internally in future.

Location: Travel between Dublin, Reading, and London

Tasks
- Define and operationalise the approach for translating business strategy into country and local market plans
- Lead the development of the first set of country/local plans across European markets
- Build the insight base for each market and identify the resulting strategic priorities and implications
- Consolidate market initiatives, delivery plans and governance requirements into a clear, consistent framework
- Create a repeatable planning process, supported by templates, guidance and handover materials, to embed the capability internally
Requirements

- Skilled in implementing and operationalising strategy, ideally with experience translating central initiatives into country-level plans
- Experienced in the retail sector, with strong market and trading insight
- Experienced in working across multiple European markets, with an understanding of cross-market strategy development
