POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Technician is part of the Quality Assurance team and has responsibility for supporting activities in the manufacturing departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have good eye hand coordination: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct line qualifications and in-process quality inspections.
- Perform dimensional testing with both manual and automated optical comparators
- Document inspections and quality related events on worksheets/notebooks
- Maintain organization of drawing and gauge cabinets.
- Fill in for QA Technicians in all departments on all shifts as necessary for vacations, personal time, meetings, etc.
- Able to work any shift on any day, work overtime as required.
- Understand DWK’s Quality Policy and relevant Quality Objectives.
- Recognize his/her contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS including the benefits of improved performance.
- Comprehend the impact or effect of not conforming to the QMS.
- May perform any or all of these tasks depending upon work assignment.
- Maintain work area in a clean and habitable condition. Observe all safety precautions, rules and regulations.
- Additional duties as required by QA Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma is required.
- One year experience in a Quality related role is preferred
- Strong computer skills (preferably Excel) is preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly (more than 2/3 of the time) required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly (more than 2/3 of the time) walk, sit, stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly (more than 2/3 of the time) lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently (between 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally (less than 1/3 of the time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: 12 hours per shift dependent upon where you’re needed. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly (more than 2/3 of the time) exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally (more than 2/3 of the time) exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is the work environment is usually loud.
