About the Role

As a Data Engineer in our Data Team, you'll build and enhance scalable data solutions that power trusted data and digital health innovation.

Working across Product, Engineering and Architecture, you'll develop end-to-end data solutions on our Snowflake platform and help grow Telstra Health's enterprise data platform.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical problems and growing their expertise in Snowflake and modern cloud data engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build, maintain and enhance scalable data engineering solutions on Snowflake
  • Develop reusable batch, streaming and near real-time data pipelines
  • Support data integrations across cloud, SaaS, API and enterprise systems
  • Develop data models supporting analytics, operational reporting and interoperability
  • Apply engineering practices across coding, testing, automation and CI/CD
  • Monitor data pipelines and support platform performance, reliability and cost efficiency
  • Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, governance and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture and Engineering teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Troubleshoot data issues and contribute to continuous improvement across the platform

About You

  • Hands-on experience building data solutions using Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform
  • Strong SQL skills and experience developing data pipelines using Python
  • Experience with data engineering tools such as dbt, Snowpipe, Snowpark, Streams or Tasks
  • Experience integrating data across cloud platforms, APIs, SaaS products or enterprise systems
  • Understanding of data modelling, data quality, governance and security principles
  • Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing and source control practices
  • Practical experience with AWS data services highly regarded
  • Healthcare data experience, including FHIR or HL7, is advantageous but not essential
  • A collaborative mindset and a desire to continue growing your technical capability
