Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of a major Onshore Gas Storage Project from Concept/FEED through Detailed Engineering and EPC support phases. The role provides leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams and is accountable for project execution, client management, commercial performance, schedule adherence, quality, HSE, and risk management.

The position serves as the primary interface with the client, project stakeholders, licensors, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the execution of large-scale onshore gas storage projects in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Develop and implement Project Execution Plans (PEP).
  • Ensure project delivery within approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality targets.
  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams across FEED and Detailed Design phases.
  • Drive project performance and monitor key project metrics.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the single point of contact for the client on all project matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead project review meetings, progress meetings, and executive presentations.
  • Manage interfaces with licensors, EPC contractors, vendors, and third-party consultants.

Engineering Management

  • Oversee engineering activities covering: • Gas Storage Facilities.
  • Compression Systems.
  • Gas Processing Facilities.
  • Pipeline Interfaces.
  • Utilities and Offsites.
  • Storage Terminals and Associated Infrastructure.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with client specifications, international codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate discipline leads to resolve technical and interface issues.

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Monitor revenue, cost performance, and resource utilization.
  • Identify and manage scope changes and variation requests.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with clients.

Risk & HSE Management

  • Lead project risk identification and mitigation activities.
  • Promote HSE culture and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and project assurance reviews.
  • Ensure implementation of project governance and quality management systems.

Resource Management

  • Establish project organization structures.
  • Manage staffing requirements and resource planning.
  • Mentor Project Engineers and discipline leads.
  • Foster a high-performance project team environment.

Reporting

  • Prepare and present: • Monthly Project Reports.
  • Progress Updates.
  • Executive Dashboards.
  • Schedule and Cost Forecasts.
  • Risk Registers.
  • Lessons Learned Reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
  • Master's Degree is advantageous.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects.
  • Minimum 10 years in Project Management roles.
  • Proven experience delivering Onshore Gas Processing, Gas Storage, LNG, Compression Stations, or Gas Handling Facilities.
  • Strong experience in Engineering Consultancy/EPCM environment.
  • Experience managing projects exceeding USD 100M–500M+ TIC preferred.
  • ADNOC project experience preferred, with strong understanding of ADNOC engineering standards, specifications, project execution requirements, and stakeholder management.
  • Proven experience delivering projects across the full project lifecycle, including:• Concept Studies
  • Pre-FEED
  • FEED
  • Detailed Engineering
  • EPC / EPCM Execution
  • Demonstrated experience in both Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas projects, with balanced exposure across facilities, pipelines, utilities, and associated infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering execution, project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
