Meet Our Team:

The Content Acquisition and Fulfillment Engineering (CAFÉ) team builds the next-generation media supply chain platform at Warner Bros. Discovery, powering end-to-end workflows from ingestion and qualification to transformation and delivery across global partners. At the core of the company’s transition to a modern, scalable, and configuration-driven ecosystem, CAFÉ is developing a microservices-based platform that enables rapid partner onboarding, high-throughput media processing, and resilient, reliable delivery at scale. We are a globally distributed team operating a highly event-driven architecture with loosely coupled services, focused on scalability, observability, and operational efficiency—and solving complex problems at massive scale.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who can contribute to building and evolving this platform from our Bangalore office. You will work on backend services and distributed workflows, designing and integrating APIs and event-driven components that power our media pipeline. While we don’t expect deep expertise in every area, we value engineers who are comfortable working across the stack and can navigate complex, distributed systems with confidence.

We are looking for engineers who can think independently, take ownership, and contribute to solution design—not just implementation—as we continue to expand CAFÉ into a business-critical platform powering hundreds of partner integrations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build application service layers to support Warner Bros Discovery’s content supply chain
  • Design and development of modules within the supply chain. Create documents that communicate what we need to build and how we need to build it.
  • Describe and defend your design and code decisions to other engineers, embrace constructive feedback, and adapt your approach to align with team and company standards and objectives.
  • Offer enhancements to best practices, document, design, and architecture improvements, and as feedback through code reviews to other engineers without continuous prompting or recurring encouragement. Other engineers appreciate your feedback.
  • Troubleshoot a production issue by reviewing source code, logs, operational metrics, stack trace etc. to pinpoint a specific problem and then resolve it.

What to Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a backend software developer (Python)
  • Experience with event driven architecture or asynchronous messaging services
  • Experience with data analytics, observability metrics and monitoring dashboards is a plus
  • Exposure to technologies like Serverless / AWS Lambda, MongoDB, AWS Step Functions would be a plus
  • Experience working within a SAFe Agile team, collaborating with others to build software and iteratively improve it
  • You are an effective communicator, demonstrating this in your discussions with the team and stakeholders and through your documentation
  • You deliver high-quality results the first time and improve code, documentation, and results with each iteration. Your team trusts your work.
  • You are driven to find the answers and unblock yourself to remove obstacles in your path to delivering task commitments.
  • It would be a plus if the candidate has experience in the Media domain

What We Offer:

  • A Great Place to work
  • Equal opportunity employer
  • Fast track growth opportunities
  • A great team of smart engineers!
