Full description

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for hardware, software, and IT systems across the district. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot technical issues, support Microsoft 365 applications, maintain IT assets, and assist with technology projects, office relocations, and end-user support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Maintain and update hardware, software, and asset inventory.
  • Support technology deployments, upgrades, and office relocation projects.
  • Assist with ITSM processes including Incident, Change, Service Request, and Asset Management.
  • Document technical procedures and communicate solutions to end users.
  • Escalate critical issues to the IT Operations and Information Security teams.

Required Skills

  • 1+ year of IT support or desktop support experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (Incident, Change, Asset, and Service Request Management).
  • Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively in a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PC Refresh projects.
  • Experience supporting office relocations, structured cabling, and equipment setup.
  • Knowledge of Virginia IT Agency (VITA) policies and processes.
  • Experience supporting Electronic Health Records (EHR) implementations.
  • Project coordination or project management experience.
