CTG is seeking to fill a Full Stack Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) position for our client.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: 4 months
Duties:
- Design, develop, test, and support scalable full-stack applications using Ruby on Rails and modern web technologies.
- Build and maintain responsive user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React.
- Develop and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support enterprise applications.
- Design, optimize, and maintain MySQL databases and data access layers.
- Deploy and support applications within AWS cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement object-oriented design principles and application architecture best practices.
- Integrate enterprise applications with internal and third-party platforms and services.
- Develop automated tests and participate in continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot application issues, optimize performance, and support ongoing enhancements.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails development.
- Experience with JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks, including Angular and React.
- Experience developing GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL database design and optimization.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and application architecture.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development methodologies.
- Experience integrating applications with internal and third-party systems.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and source control.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with messaging technologies.
- Experience building ETL processes or data pipelines.
Experience:
- Experience in all aspects of application design, development, testing, and production support.
- Expert-level software development skills across multiple layers of the technology stack.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, architectural standards, and software engineering best practices.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes spanning multiple functional areas and develop effective technical solutions.
- Experience implementing dependency injection, inversion of control, and aspect-oriented programming concepts.
- Experience with functional programming techniques, transaction management, batch processing, and enterprise application frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile development environments using DevOps methodologies.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications with internal and third-party platforms.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
