Full description

ERG Media is an independent publishing and creative company working at the intersection of culture, design, automotive, travel, art and luxury. We produce ambitious books, editorial projects and creative work for our own publishing programme as well as for leading international brands and cultural partners.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Milan team and take a central role in managing ERG's growing portfolio of publishing, creative and agency projects.

This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who is exceptionally organised, proactive and comfortable operating at the centre of a fast-moving creative company. You will work closely with our CEO, COO, editors, designers, producers, print production and marketing teams, managing projects from brief through production, launch and final delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own multiple publishing, creative and agency projects from brief to final delivery
  • Build and maintain detailed project timelines, milestones and dependencies
  • Maintain a clear overview of all active projects and establish weekly priorities
  • Manage ERG publishing titles across editorial, design, image research, print production and launch
  • Help manage ERG's annual publishing calendar and coordinate launch dates across titles
  • Coordinate designers, editors, producers, photographers, writers and external collaborators
  • Organise internal reviews, partner reviews, approvals and feedback cycles
  • Identify bottlenecks, delays and dependencies early and actively resolve them
  • Lead regular project and production meetings
  • Translate creative briefs into clear scopes, deliverables and production plans
  • Coordinate agency and partner projects from brief through delivery
  • Ensure clear ownership and next steps across multidisciplinary teams
  • Prepare concise project status reporting for the CEO and COO
  • Track project completion and coordinate invoicing milestones
  • Own and maintain ERG's project-management environment in ClickUp
  • Improve workflows, templates, automations and project-management processes
  • Maintain project documentation, onboarding materials and production playbooks

This role sits at the heart of ERG's day-to-day operations. When you own a project, the team should always know where it stands, what needs to happen next, who is responsible and what could prevent it from being delivered successfully.

You should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, production or creative operations
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience in publishing, editorial, a creative agency, luxury, fashion, design, art or another creative industry
  • Exceptional organisational and project-management skills
  • Strong understanding of creative production workflows
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Confidence working directly with senior leadership and external partners
  • Ability to translate creative briefs into actionable production plans
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to distinguish between what is urgent and what is genuinely important
  • Experience with ClickUp, Asana, Monday, Notion or similar project-management platforms
  • Confidence holding colleagues and collaborators accountable to agreed deadlines
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to remain calm and effective when priorities change
  • Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the larger project
  • Commercial awareness around scope, resources, timelines and budgets
  • Comfort working across international teams, suppliers and time zones
  • Fluent English; Italian is advantageous but not essential
  • Based in Milan or willing to relocate to Milan

Publishing or complex editorial production experience is strongly preferred.

We are particularly interested in candidates who combine structure with creative sensitivity. This is not a purely administrative project-management position. You need to understand how excellent creative work gets made while providing the structure necessary to deliver it.

We value people who take ownership, communicate problems early and clearly, and instinctively look for solutions rather than waiting for instructions.

ERG Media offers the opportunity to work at the centre of an independent, international publishing and creative company during a significant period of growth.

You will work closely with ERG's founders and senior leadership while collaborating with an international network of designers, editors, photographers, artists, writers and cultural partners.

Our projects span publishing, design, automotive, art, travel, fashion and luxury, offering exposure to an unusually broad range of creative work. As a relatively small and entrepreneurial company, we give people significant responsibility and the opportunity to make a visible impact on how the business operates.

The position is based at our studio in Milan, working directly alongside our creative, editorial and production teams. The role may also involve international travel connected to projects, production, press checks and launches.

We value autonomy, initiative, excellent taste, direct communication and genuine ownership. For the right person, this is an opportunity to help build the operational backbone behind an ambitious and rapidly growing independent publishing company.
