About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead who can bridge hands-on software development and software architecture. The role is split approximately 50% between architecture and 50% between software development, requiring strong communication and close collaboration with domain architects, developers and the wider DevOps organization. You will join a diverse team working in two-week sprints and ten-week program increments within a domain of four teams and approximately 24 people. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Provide technical leadership, direction and guidance to the development team. 

• Balance hands-on software development with software architecture and solution design responsibilities. 

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality backend services primarily using Java and Spring Boot. 

• Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure solutions align with the broader domain architecture. 

• Design and develop microservices-based and AWS serverless solutions. 

• Work with TypeScript as part of application development. 

• Collaborate closely with domain architects, developers, DevOps professionals and other stakeholders. 

• Participate in technical discussions, solution design, code reviews and development activities. 

• Design and work with SQL and NoSQL data solutions. 

• Develop and support asynchronous application components and distributed systems. 

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, GitHub-based development and modern DevOps practices. 

• Promote Test-Driven Development (TDD), maintainability and high-quality engineering practices. 

• Work effectively in Unix/Linux environments and Agile delivery models including Scrum, SAFe and Kanban. 

• Support reliable, maintainable and scalable software solutions while communicating technical concepts clearly across teams. 

Must-Have Skills 

• Proven experience in Tech Lead or Team Lead roles 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills 

• Advanced Java backend development

• AWS, particularly serverless services and development 

• Microservices architecture, design and related software architecture concepts 

• Database skills covering SQL and NoSQL

• Automotive industry experience

• Understanding of scalability and experience with load testing 

• Application profiling and performance optimization 

Education 

• Minimum: Graduation / Bachelor’s Degree. 

• Preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 

Experience 

• 8+ years of relevant software development experience. 

• Strong background in Java backend development with demonstrable Tech Lead / Team Lead responsibilities. 

• Hands-on experience with software architecture, cloud-based applications and modern DevOps delivery. 

• Must be comfortable remaining hands-on with development rather than working solely in an architectural or managerial capacity.
