Description of the position:

Responsible for the design, development, and continuous enhancement of a high-quality Maintenance Database, encompassing job cards and detailed information on man hours, materials, tools, equipment, and other critical resources. This role ensures full compliance with FAA aviation regulations, customer-specific requirements, as well as LTPR processes. Deputize for the Planning & Engineering Manager as required, and actively contribute to organizational development through non-operational projects, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Act as a role model and mentor for the Database team.

Essential responsibilites:

Maintenance Database management

  • Ensure strict compliance with FAA aviation regulations, customer requirements, and LTPR processes in all database activities.
  • Drive ongoing improvements to Maintenance Database quality and operational efficiency, actively identifying and implementing innovative process solutions.
  • Participate in the development and revision of internal manuals, ProX documents, and work procedures to enhance departmental performance.
  • Conduct complex analyses related to aircraft and organizational performance, leveraging data-driven insights for risk mitigation and process enhancement.
  • Review maintenance data, Workstation allocation document, Critical Maintenance Task Lists, and other technical records to correctly assign tasks, man hours, materials, tools, equipment, and production phases within the Maintenance Database.
  • Prepare coversheet Job Cards and implement TPM/JPM or other customer-specific requirements as necessary.

Coordination, Collaboration & Communication

  • Liaise with quality departments and PED colleagues (MP, PMO, etc.) to address database-related requirements and elevate maintenance processes.
  • Collect and integrate feedback from internal teams (Production, quality, logistics and tooling), customers, and stakeholders to refine database quality and usage.
  • Provide daily strategic inputs regarding the availability and utilization of maintenance documentation for operational excellence.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives across PED sites and engineering teams.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure FAA Part 145 compliance and adherence to RSQCM manual, Repair Station Training Program, and the IQ MOVE processes.
  • Interpret OEM and customer technical documentation accurately and translate into correct job cards.
  • Perform quality checks on received documentation and support internal/external audits.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements within maintenance database and production areas.
  • Execute timely updates to the Maintenance Database, reflecting the latest revisions of maintenance data and related documents.
  • Perform advanced quality assurance checks to proactively identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors, utilizing industry best practices.
  • Support alignment and standardization of processes and collaborate with Quality to validate maintenance data and ensure job card accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform q/scans and follow up on raised q/stars.
  • Support quality audits and contribute to updates of internal manuals and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational performance monitoring.

Leadership & Technical Expertise

  • Mentor and guide Maintenance Planners.
  • Support onboarding and training of newcomers.
  • Deputize for the Planning & Engineering Manager when required.
  • Participate in strategic or cross-functional projects within PED.
  • Take an active role in the implementation of solutions for process improvements within the department and production site(s). Work with Production to ensure KPI adherence and feedback deviation to PED.
  • Serve as the expert for all processes related to Maintenance Database design, management, and optimization.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of production capabilities and certification requirements, ensuring alignment with FAA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Lead the creation, handling, and updating of Maintenance Databases, guaranteeing data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Leveraging advanced technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strategic vision.
  • Leads cross-functional projects to optimize database architecture.
  • Applies best practices in data governance and process optimization to maintain data integrity, accuracy, and reliability, while proactively identifying and implementing innovative solutions for complex maintenance challenges.
  • Shaping data-driven maintenance strategies and supporting organizational goals through expert analysis and continuous improvement.

Education, skills and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engineering or in relevant engineering subject.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in aircraft maintenance / design / manufacturing environment.
  • Professional training in aircraft maintenance with a minimum of three years of experience in aircraft maintenance / design / manufacturing environment
  • Holder of a company authorization (if applicable) or relevant experience to enable faster acceptance of authorization.
  • Good understanding of creation and control of customer maintenance programs and MPD
  • Strong understanding of airworthiness and FAA requirements.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Skilled in interpreting technical documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP/mJobCard advantageous.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
