About Flutter Studios:

Flutter Studios comprises three of Flutter’s in-house studios together with Product, Technology and Operations teams with the collective objective to create industry leading casino game content exclusively for Flutter casino brands worldwide.

Role Overview:

We're opening an AI Software Engineer Internship in our Cluj-Napoca office for someone who wants to grow into an AI-native engineer from day one. You're an early-career developer (or advanced student) who is genuinely curious about building software with AI as the default interface — using coding assistants, agentic workflows, and automation to write, test, and iterate on code.

You won't be expected to design production systems on your own. You will be expected to show up with strong learning instincts, an experimental mindset, and the discipline to validate what AI produces rather than blindly ship it. You'll be paired with a buddy and a senior mentor, and you'll contribute alongside experienced engineers on real product work.

This is a learning-first, high-agency role. Interns who deliver and grow will have a clear path toward a Junior Software Engineer position.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Work in an AI-first development model from the start — using coding assistants (Copilot, Claude or Cursor) and agentic workflows as your primary way of writing and iterating on code.
  • Contribute to full stack services and APIs using Node.js, and to frontend features using React, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Learn to build on AWS— with a specific focus on Amazon Bedrock for working with foundation models, and orchestration services such as Bedrock Flows or AWS Step Functions for composing AI-powered workflows.
  • Prototype small AI-powered features: LLM integrations, prompt design, retrieval-based flows, and simple evaluation harnesses.
  • Participate indesign discussions, code reviews, and squad ceremonies— asking questions, sharing what you learn, and treating feedback as fuel.
  • Write and maintain tests, documentation, and observability for what you build. Learn what "production quality" actually means in a regulated, high-scale environment.
  • Help the team measure and improve how AI is used in the SDLC — sharing findings, small tools, and workflow improvements with the wider team.

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required: AI-Augmented Development

  • Genuine hands-on curiosity with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) — not just as a search replacement, but as a way of building software.
  • Some experience — from personal projects, coursework, or hackathons — of delegating parts of implementation, testing, or debugging to AI and then validating the result.
  • Willingness to write clear prompts, critically review AI-generated code, and understand when not to trust it.
  • Curiosity aboutLLM APIs and managed foundation models— especiallyAmazon Bedrock (Claude, Nova, Titan, etc. Any prior experiment is a strong plus.
  • Interest in learning how to evaluate AI systems — output quality, correctness, latency, cost.
  • Awareness that AI accelerates delivery only when paired with strong engineering judgment.

Core Engineering

  • Currently studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field —oran equivalent self-taught path with a portfolio.
  • Comfortable coding in Node.js/TypeScript.
  • Understanding of core fundamentals: data structures, HTTP/REST, Git, basic SQL.
  • Willingness to learnAWS as your primary cloud environment — including Amazon Bedrock(foundation models), Bedrock Flows and AWS Step Functions(workflow orchestration), plus core services like Lambda, DynamoDB and S3. Prior exposure is welcome but not required — we'll teach you.
  • Familiarity with frontend development in React (or willingness to pick it up) is a plus.
  • Appreciation for testing— unit tests at minimum; interest in TDD/BDD is a plus.
  • Any experience with relational/NoSQL databases, messaging (Kafka, SQS/SNS), or IaC (Terraform) is welcome but not required.

Soft Skills & Ways of Working

  • Strong written and verbal English — able to explain what you're building and, more importantly, what you don't yet understand.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous problems— willing to ask questions early rather than get stuck silently.
  • Genuine appetite for agile/scrum ways of working, continuous delivery, and iterative development.
  • Willingness to give and receive feedback, and to share what you learn with peers.
  • Ownership mindset: even at intern level, you take responsibility for what you deliver.

What You'll Learn

  • How production-grade systems are designed, shipped, and operated at scale.
  • Hands-on AWS— from foundational services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3) through to Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Flows and Step Functions for building AI-powered workflows.
  • How AI capabilities are integrated responsibly into a regulated business (guardrails, auditability, data controls).
  • Real engineering craft: testing, code review, observability, incident response, on-call basics.
  • A view into Flutter's broader AI strategy— from internal assistants through to advanced agentic systems.
  • Direct mentorship from senior engineers who use AI as a daily interface, not a curiosity.

Success Measures (First 6 Months)

  • Consistent, quality contributions to team backlog (features, fixes, tooling).
  • At least one AI-assisted prototype or internal tool shipped to the team.
  • Measurable growth in engineering fundamentals: code quality, test coverage, review participation.
  • Evidence of critical thinking when working with AI output — spotting hallucinations, security issues, or bad patterns.
  • Positive feedback from buddy, mentor, and squad — and readiness for a Junior-level role by end of program.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid & remote working options
  • €1,000 per year for self-development
  • Company share scheme
  • 25 days of annual leave per year
  • 20 days per year to work abroad
  • 5 personal days/year
  • Flexible benefits: travel, sports, hobbies
  • Extended health, dental and travel insurances
  • Customized well-being programmes
  • Career growth sessions
  • Thousands of online courses through Udemy
  • A variety of engaging office events
