Overview
The Smart Building business unit powers the multifamily industry's true connected living platform - STRATIS IoT. This platform unifies IoT automation, sidewalk-to-sofa access management, and managed Wi-Fi (WhiteSky) into a single ecosystem, enabling operators to deliver a seamless Sidewalk-to-Sofa™ resident experience.
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager for Chirp Access Control to join the Smart Building team and own the Chirp Access Control product, a competitive Access Control system that is purpose built as a low cost retrofit solution.
Reporting to the Smart Building VP of Product, this person will work at the intersection of product ownership and partner strategy - deeply understanding operator workflows and resident expectations, shaping the Access Control solution’s strategic direction, helping the broader access ecosystem grow through structured discovery and strong business requirements documentation.
Responsibilities
- Own the full product lifecycle for Chirp Access Control: define vision, build and maintain the roadmap, prioritize the backlog, and deliver against business and customer goals.
- Translate operator and resident insights into well-scoped product requirements; write PRDs consistent with RealPage standards that support optimal development velocity and minimize rework.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, UX, and QA teams across a global organization to ship features on time and with high quality.
- Define and monitor product KPIs - adoption, retention, support deflection, client satisfaction — and drive data-informed iterations.
- Represent the voice of multifamily property managers, maintenance teams, and residents across internal stakeholder groups and leadership reviews.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales and Channel to develop compelling go-to-market messaging, training materials, and launch plans for new Chirp capabilities.
- The incoming product person will help launch the Chirp Open API that significantly expands the reach of Chirp Access Control across the TAM to work with any Smart Building platform.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4–6 years of product management experience, with demonstrated growth as an individual contributor in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong knowledge of access control hardware and credential ecosystems (e.g., BLE, NFC, RFID, MDU readers, cloud-based access management platforms).
- Proven track record of owning a product end-to-end: strategy, roadmap, delivery, and post-launch iteration.
- Strong customer discovery skills — experience conducting qualitative research (interviews, shadowing) and translating findings into product direction.
- Excellent documentation skills; comfortable authoring BRDs, PRDs, and product specs that serve multiple downstream audiences (engineering, design, sales, implementation).
- Ability to work collaboratively across Smart Building Product and Engineering teams, including key stakeholders
- Clear and persuasive communicator, able to present roadmap rationale and trade-off decisions to senior leadership.
- Analytical mindset; comfortable defining success metrics and using data to validate product decisions.
Preferred:
- Experience in smart building, access control, IoT, or proptech — ideally in multifamily real estate.
- Prior experience evaluating and onboarding technology partnerships or third-party integrations.
- Experience in multifamily property management software or related real estate technology.
- Exposure to Agile frameworks and Azure DevOps or equivalent backlog management tools.
- Familiar with AI Tools and usability level between an AI Adaptor or AI Orchestrator.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA or equivalent experience a plus,
