Java Software Engineer (mid-level)

This role will primarily support the billing system, including production incident handling, application change requests. Validates requirements and performs analysis and design for system improvements and new applications. Represents the department by leading work and providing guidance to others.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the billing system, including resolution of production incidents and implementation of application change requests

• Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software to meet requirements

• Design and develop test automation code

• Perform comprehensive analysis and design for broadly defined requirements

• Contribute to technical direction and software architecture decisions

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for applications across environments, including high-impact production issues

• Support changes during quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and post-implementation activities

• Leverage AI development tools and support agentic development.

• Support agentic development and improve productivity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent work experience

• 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience

• Experience building and supporting APIs and RESTful microservices

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

• Experience with Kafka and enterprise data pipelines

• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production applications in Agile environments

• Familiarity with AI development tools for agentic development
