Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects from start to completion. The role will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients to keep projects organized, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has experience with commercial construction, interior build-outs, and project coordination and is looking to grow into a Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project management.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, materials, and project schedules.
- Track project progress, deadlines, budgets, and change orders.
- Review plans, drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Prepare RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, and project reports.
- Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and field teams.
- Help resolve project issues, delays, and coordination conflicts.
- Monitor project documentation and ensure timely follow-up.
- Attend project meetings and site visits as needed.
- Support project closeout and final documentation.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction or project coordination.
- Experience with tenant improvement, office, retail, or commercial projects preferred.
- Understanding of construction plans, schedules, subcontractors, and project documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience with Procore or similar construction software is a plus.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
- Multiple commercial TI projects may be managed simultaneously.
- Occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required depending on project needs.
