About the role:

This is a unique role to join a small but extremely technical and innovative global cloud infrastructure team.  The PTP (Post Trade Processing Platform) infrastructure team provides the technology platform for the business unit. The team is currently 8 people spread globally in North America, Europe and Asia.

The team is responsible for an extremely diverse range of technologies, and we are looking for an infrastructure and cloud expert with at least 5-10 years of experience.  The successful candidate will need to be flexible and a quick learner to grasp, adopt, implement and support modern Infrastructure technologies.  The role requires working in Hong Kong hours to support global clients.

What you will be doing

• Contribute to the global management of infrastructure with 200 (mostly LINUX) server estate and K8s clusters with a network covering 8+ sites predominantly in AWS.
• Systems Operations e.g. handling monitoring events and dealing with requests.
• Infrastructure Management: building, maintaining and using configuration management, we need to handle different types of systems in the cloud incl Kafka, RabbitMQ, EKS/K8s, S3, NLB, ALB, EFS, RDS/Oracle, ClickHouse DB, TFE, Ansible and Linux based systems (Redhat variants).

What you bring:

Key Abilities:

• we are looking for an infrastructure and cloud expert with at least 5-10 years of experience. 
• Demonstrated evidence of strong technical ability by designing and maintaining complex systems.
• Expert in Kubernetes and AWS technologies
• Practical experience in configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• The ability to code fluently in at least one programming language, ideally Python and Bash scripting.
• Detailed theoretical and practical knowledge of operating system and network fundamentals, the successful candidate should know technical elements such as DNS, TCP/IP and IPsec VPN.

• A passion for automation and a desire to know how computers and networks inter-operate.
• Articulate, numerate and capable of negotiating high value technical equipment and services.
• Self-motivated with a desire to work closely with highly technical colleagues on all levels (from user support to building out new production infrastructure).
