Project / Team / Area of Responsibility
Provide program management, portfolio planning, coordination, governance, and execution leadership across the Storage Software Engineering organization.
Drive visibility, accountability, and successful delivery of multiple concurrent engineering initiatives spanning software development, QA, DevOps, cloud architecture, platform engineering, infrastructure modernization, storage technologies, SaaS services, and strategic product programs.
Act as the operational and strategic hub between Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Product Leadership and Support to ensure projects and programs are effectively tracked, risks are managed, resources are aligned, and commitments are delivered on schedule.
Lead cross-functional initiatives that span multiple engineering teams and business organizations while ensuring alignment with company objectives, product roadmaps, customer commitments, and strategic business priorities.
This role combines traditional project management responsibilities with strategic program leadership responsibilities.
The successful candidate will not only manage execution and delivery activities, but also drive portfolio planning, organizational alignment, program governance, executive reporting, resource management, dependency resolution, and long-term strategic initiatives across Storage Software Engineering.
This individual will serve as a key partner to engineering leadership and product management, helping translate strategic objectives into executable delivery plans while ensuring predictable and measurable outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project & Delivery Management
- Assist the VP of Storage Software Engineering in managing and tracking all active projects across multiple engineering teams.
- Maintain visibility into project status, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource constraints.
- Coordinate daily Scrum activities across development teams, ensuring blockers, risks, and action items are identified and resolved promptly.
- Partner closely with Product Management to ensure engineering priorities align with business objectives, roadmap commitments, and customer requirements.
- Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, release planning, and retrospective activities across multiple Agile teams.
- Monitor project execution and ensure milestones are achieved according to approved schedules.
- Facilitate project reviews, stakeholder meetings, roadmap discussions, and engineering planning sessions.
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, action logs, and decision tracking.
- Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, reports, and workflow governance processes.
- Ensure engineering teams have clear visibility into priorities, commitments, and deliverables.
- Proactively identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Lead multiple strategic programs concurrently across the Storage Software Engineering organization.
- Establish governance frameworks for planning, execution, reporting, and operational excellence.
- Develop multi-quarter and multi-year program roadmaps supporting organizational objectives.
- Manage program-level dependencies spanning multiple projects, products, teams, and partner organizations.
- Drive organizational planning activities including capacity planning, prioritization, investment alignment, and resource forecasting.
- Coordinate engineering activities involving Product Management, Architecture, Security, Support, Professional Services, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
- Ensure successful execution of strategic transformation initiatives and platform modernization efforts.
- Manage organizational risks, resource conflicts, and priority changes while maintaining program commitments.
- Facilitate executive steering committees, leadership reviews, and program governance meetings.
- Develop executive dashboards and status reporting frameworks that provide visibility into program health and organizational performance.
- Support annual planning, roadmap development, budget planning, and investment prioritization activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering productivity, operational efficiency, quality, and delivery predictability.

- Secure Control Plane Programs
- Storage Platform Modernization

- Qumulo Integration Programs
- Keystone Storage and Hybrid Cloud Services
- API Platform Strategy and Service Modernization
- Infrastructure and DevOps Automation Initiatives
- Security, Compliance, and Platform Governance Programs
Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary liaison between Engineering Leadership, Product, and business stakeholders.
- Drive alignment across departments regarding priorities, schedules, risks, and strategic objectives.
- Communicate program status, business impact, and execution risks to executive leadership.
- Build strong working relationships with external technology partners, vendors, and strategic suppliers when required.
- Influence organizational decision-making through data-driven analysis and program insights.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Program Management, Technical Program Management, Project Management, Engineering Operations, or Engineering Leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing both projects and large-scale cross-functional programs.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, release management, and engineering delivery models.
- Extensive experience with Jira administration, portfolio reporting, dashboards, workflows, and project governance.
- Experience coordinating multiple concurrent initiatives across geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong project planning, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience developing executive reports, business reviews, and strategic planning materials.
- Ability to operate effectively across technical, operational, and business domains.
- Strong leadership and organizational influence skills.
- Experience working directly with senior engineering and executive leadership.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
DESIRABLE
- Experience within enterprise storage, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, media technology, or distributed systems.
- Prior software engineering, DevOps, cloud architecture, or infrastructure operations background.
- Experience leading organizational transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Experience supporting annual budgeting and strategic investment planning.
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or related certifications.
- Experience managing third-party development organizations and technology partnerships.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native platforms.
- Understanding of storage technologies including NAS, SAN, Object Storage, Hybrid Cloud, and Distributed File Systems.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
Within the first 6–12 months, the successful candidate will:
- Establish consistent project and program tracking across all Storage Software Engineering initiatives.
- Improve visibility into project status, program health, risks, dependencies, budgets, and delivery timelines.
- Standardize Jira reporting, dashboarding, portfolio governance, and engineering planning processes.
- Improve organizational predictability of engineering commitments and milestone delivery.
- Successfully coordinate execution across multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
- Improve executive visibility into engineering investments, resource allocation, and delivery performance.
- Reduce organizational delivery risk through proactive dependency and issue management.
- Increase operational efficiency across Agile ceremonies, governance reviews, and portfolio planning activities.
- Become the central coordination point for Engineering, Product Management, and Leadership execution planning.
- Deliver executive-ready reporting that enables data-driven organizational decision-making.
Program Manager – Storage Software Engineering
This position operates as an individual contributor responsible for department-wide project management, program leadership, portfolio governance, strategic planning, engineering operations, and organizational execution excellence.
The role works directly with engineering managers, architects, technical leads, product managers, executive leadership, and external partners to drive successful delivery of strategic Storage Engineering initiatives.
Unlike a traditional Project Manager role, this position maintains direct ownership of project execution while also assuming responsibility for program-level planning, portfolio management, strategic initiatives, organizational governance, and executive alignment across the broader Storage Engineering organization.
Salary Range: MIN 152,277 to MAX 228,415 PLN/ Annual
