SENIOR ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Mooinooi, North West

MOYO Business Advisory is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead and deliver complex capital projects within the mining and mineral processing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple multidisciplinary projects from concept through commissioning and close-out, ensuring project objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client governance requirements.

The role requires a seasoned project professional with strong leadership capabilities, proven stakeholder management skills, and extensive experience working in project environments within the mining industry. The successful candidate must be willing to travel and be adaptable to the changing environments and challenges associated with the consulting field.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Qualification (Diploma or Degree) in Mechanical, Mining, Process, Electrical, C&I, or related discipline
  • Project Management Qualification (Diploma or Degree)
  • PMP, PRINCE2, MBA, MSc Project Management, or equivalent qualification will be advantageous
  • Professional registration with ECSA or a relevant professional body will be advantageous

Experience and Knowledge

  • 10+ years' experience managing capital projects within the mining and mineral processing industry
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a Project Management role
  • Proven experience managing large-scale multidisciplinary engineering projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Strong experience in project controls, procurement, contract management, risk management, and change management
  • Sound understanding of mining operations, processing plants, infrastructure projects, and capital project governance
  • Experience working within a consulting environment will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple multidisciplinary engineering projects in accordance with client and industry standards
  • Conduct project front-end loading activities, including scoping, budgeting, cost estimating, scheduling, and business case development
  • Prepare and present project documentation for approval by Client Capital Investment Committees and other governance structures
  • Manage all phases of project execution from initiation through commissioning and close-out
  • Oversee procurement activities, contractor performance, and contract administration
  • Ensure effective project controls relating to scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk
  • Drive project integration across engineering disciplines and business stakeholders
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project change management processes and ensure governance compliance
  • Manage project reporting, stakeholder communication, and executive-level presentations
  • Facilitate negotiations and conflict resolution with clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Ensure successful handover and project close-out to operations and end users
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior project managers and project teams where required
