Product Support Operations Manager (Retrofit, Repair, Mod & Maint)

Boeing Global Services is seeking a Product Support Operations Manager (Retrofit, Repair, Mod & Maint) This position will support the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) program. The GMD system is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. Travel will be required to Vandenberg, CA on a quarterly basis. Position is in Fort Greely, AK .

Position responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing customer support, logistics, technical, retrofit, repair, modification and maintenance activities within Product Support.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 5+ years of experience in systems deployment and logistics/sustainment processes
  • 5+ years of experience working on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program
  • 5+ years of experience in Service Engineering, Field Service, Maintenance Engineering, or Customer/Logistics Support
  • 3+ years of experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Degree – any Formal process improvement certification (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Prior experience as the technical authority, subject matter expert, or direct field/technical supervisor Program or project management cert Familiar with Boeing management and HR systems
