The DACT Team delivers and supports business-critical applications, dashboards, and process automation solutions that enable operational efficiency, digital transformation, and business growth across Aon's businesses. The team is responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and modernizing web-based applications, analytics dashboards, and automation solutions while ensuring high levels of reliability, security, and stakeholder satisfaction. The team works closely with business, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve business processes, enhance decision-making, and align with organizational objectives.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The IND Consultant I is responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and support of business applications, dashboards, and process automation solutions using Python, Django, MS SQL and Power BI technologies. The role combines application development, data visualization, analytics enablement, operational support, stakeholder engagement, and infrastructure coordination.
The individual will work closely with business users and cross-functional technology teams to deliver scalable web applications, interactive dashboards, reports, and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reporting capabilities, data-driven decision-making, and business outcomes. The role also involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, supporting production operations, managing application releases, developing automated workflows, and coordinating infrastructure and environment-related activities through ServiceNow and enterprise IT processes.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Python, Django, MS SQL, Power BI and MS Excel, along with excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills to deliver high-quality digital solutions across the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications/process automations using Python and Django frameworks.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Participate in feasibility analysis, requirement gathering, and solution design discussions with business stakeholders. Document business and functional requirements, prepare technical specifications, and translate business requirements into technical solutions for successful implementation by development teams.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects, incidents, and production issues.
- Coordinate application deployments, releases, and environment management activities across Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Raise, manage, and coordinate ServiceNow requests for server provisioning, environment setup, configuration changes, access management, SSL renewals, firewall requests, infrastructure support activities, and production change implementations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and other teams to gather requirements and deliver technology solutions.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Strong hands-on experience in Python, Django, and web application development, with the ability to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications.
- Experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, to support business reporting, analytics, KPI tracking, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with experience supporting business-critical applications in production environments.
- Experience in requirements gathering, feasibility analysis, business process analysis, documenting functional and technical requirements, and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and enterprise IT processes, including managing requests related to server provisioning, environment setup, access management, configuration changes, infrastructure support, and production deployments.
- Knowledge of SQL databases, system integrations, application architecture concepts.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage business users, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Prior experience working in the Commercial Insurance domain is highly preferred, with an understanding of risk management, underwriting, policy administration, claims, broker servicing processes, and insurance business workflows.
