Overview

QA Auditor

Humdinger, Sherburn LS25 6PJ

Position type: Permanent Full-Time

Pay range: £31,960.00

Paid Breaks: For 8 hour shifts you are entitled to 1 x 15 minute and 1 x 30 minute paid break and for 12 hour shifts you are entitled to 2 x 15 minute and 1 x 30 minute paid break

Shift Pattern: Rotating weekly

  • Nights: Sunday: 18:00 – 06:00 / Monday – Thursday: 22:00 – 06:00
  • Afters: Monday – Thursday: 14:00 – 22:00
  • Days: Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 14:00 / Friday: 06:00 – 18:00

Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits (PFS, Glass & Plastic, Cleaning Standards) and report findings promptly.
  • Investigate Quality or Food Safety incidents, NCRs, and customer complaints; implement corrective actions using root cause analysis.
  • Manage calibration, micro testing schedules, and food safety checks (ATP/allergen swabs).
  • Support daily taste panels, technical tracker updates, and documentation for audits/complaints.
  • Hold or repair out-of-spec products; sign off rework and raise waivers as needed.
  • Ensure site calibration for scales and probes are completed.
  • Testing and Inspection of Chocolate Tankers where required.
  • Deliver Critical Control Point (CCP) training and act as Quality Champion across the site.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Quality Auditor in a food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of retailer standards
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong administrative skills and use of Excel and Word
  • Strong communicator
  • Level 2 Food Safety
  • Level 2 HACCP
