Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee industrial and commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Louisville, KY area. This position is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction and award through final closeout, with direct accountability for scheduling, financial performance, labor coordination, procurement, safety, and quality.
The ideal candidate has a strong background working for an electrical contractor and understands the complete electrical construction lifecycle. This role requires someone who can effectively coordinate field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, engineers, and internal departments while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
Projects may include manufacturing and industrial facilities, automotive facilities, commercial buildings, institutional projects, and electrical service and maintenance work.
Responsibilities
- Manage industrial and commercial electrical construction projects from award through final completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement schedules, and execution strategies.
- Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other project partners.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project requirements.
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, committed costs, materials, equipment, billing, and overall financial performance.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, project documentation, reporting, and closeout requirements.
- Track material and equipment needs to ensure timely procurement and minimize field delays.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, engineers, inspectors, general contractors, and company leadership.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding schedules, costs, risks, and project performance.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues involving manpower, scheduling, materials, scope, and field coordination.
- Support field leadership with the information and resources necessary to maintain productivity and project progress.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with company safety requirements, applicable electrical codes, and industry standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of electrical construction project management experience preferred.
- Proven experience managing industrial and commercial electrical construction projects.
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or self-performing electrical construction company is strongly preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, automotive facilities, commercial buildings, institutional projects, or electrical service work is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, manpower planning, and field operations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and construction schedules.
- Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasting, billing, labor productivity, procurement, subcontractors, and change orders.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Louisville area.
