PwC Services Portugal (PSP) is a joint venture between PwC Luxembourg and PwC Portugal, serving as an integral extension of PwC Luxembourg. Our growing team operates as an acceleration center supporting PwC Luxembourg’s clients. Leveraging a unique pool of talented professionals based in Matosinhos, our operating model ensures scalability, consistency, and quality in service delivery by integrating seamlessly into PwC Luxembourg’s operations and addressing talent attraction challenges sustainably.
The role - Data Engineer
As a Data Engineer within the Data Factory team of the Central Data Office, you will play a key role in evolving and operating PwC Luxembourg’s core data ingestion and integration platforms. Working closely with data engineers, analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders, you will help ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of trusted data that supports analytics, decision-making, and a wide range of business use cases across the firm. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines on Databricks to ingest and transform data from diverse sources
- Evolve and optimise data processing architectures to improve performance and scalability
- Ensure high standards of data quality, monitoring, and availability in production
- Contribute to the modernisation and migration of existing pipelines and tools
- Diagnose and resolve complex data issues with a focus on sustainable solutions
- Collaborate with analysts, IT, and business teams to deliver trusted data outcomes.
Your profile
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proven experience in Data Engineering with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks
- Proficient in Python and/or .NET, combined with advanced SQL skills for data processing and transformation
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
- Strong understanding of data pipeline design, data integration, and data quality best practices
- Ability to analyse complex problems and develop scalable, sustainable solutions
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
