Job Description:

Polaris Alpha® Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer whose role will be essential to the design, implementation, and delivery of high performance, secure, mission critical solutions. We seek an engineer that is versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle new challenges as we continue to provide the military with cutting edge tools. For this position, the Software Engineer will analyze, design, and implement advanced capabilities on an assured munitions life cycle risk management tool at Picatinny Arsenal NJ, for its expansion, optimization, and seamless deployment.

Responsibilities:

  • Database Management & Optimization: Developing, managing, and maintaining the Neo4j Graph database, utilizing CYPHER queries to construct efficient data pipelines, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Full-Stack Development: Designing and implementing robust front-end user interfaces (UIs) and back-end architectures to support complex search, visualization, and analytical tasks.
  • Containerization & Deployment: Utilizing Docker and container orchestration tools to package applications, push updates, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Enterprise Integration: Navigating United States Army enterprise networks and software environments to deploy technology upgrades, assist with local installations, and troubleshoot system/infrastructure issues as they arise.
  • Working with the customer to investigate and resolve problems as the project matures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering:  design, development, integration, test, deployment and support.
  • Neo4j Graph Database & Full-Stack Development: proven experience in Neo4j Graph database design, management, and administration; hands-on proficiency with CYPHER query language for complex graph data modeling and query optimization; strong capabilities in front-end user interface (UI) design and back-end system architecture.
  • Containerization and DevOps: demonstrated expertise in using Docker to containerize applications; proficient in managing container networks, volumes, and utilizing docker containers to push seamless software updates across environments.
  • Army Enterprise & Systems Familiarity: active familiarity with Army IT systems, networks, and protocols; experience assisting with software installations, executing technology upgrades, and resolving integration or operational issues working within the Army enterprise network environment.
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.
  • Ability to work with different development environments depending on the team’s preference and/or history
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.  While a security clearance is not required, it may be in the future so candidates should have or have held a clearance or be clearable.

Desired Capabilities:

  • AI & Machine Learning Integration: familiarity with integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models with Neo4j Graph databases (e.g., implementing Graph Data Science, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or semantic search).
  • Picatinny Arsenal Experience & Governance: prior history working on the Arsenal, with deep institutional knowledge of Arsenal permissions, cybersecurity compliance, and administrative governance.
  • Advanced Analytics Platforms: practical familiarity with Palantir’s Foundry Platform or the Army Vantage Program to support data ingestion, sharing, and enterprise-level analytics.
  • Experience with Government standards and procedures.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.
