This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Golang + Kubernetes) based in Canada.

Accountabilities: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and operating cloud-native platforms while improving automation, reliability, and delivery efficiency. You will work closely with engineering teams to modernize workflows, enhance CI/CD capabilities, and ensure scalable operations across multiple services.

  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines used across multiple products and services.
  • Build automation solutions using Golang, Python, Terraform, and Unix scripting to streamline engineering processes.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions using Kubernetes, Docker, and modern infrastructure practices.
  • Support the onboarding of applications, services, and components into automated build, deployment, and monitoring workflows.
  • Improve platform reliability by focusing on availability, performance, scalability, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review code, define integrations, and implement technical improvements.
  • Contribute to observability initiatives by maintaining monitoring, logging, and reporting solutions.
  • Support security best practices across development, deployment, and operational processes.
  • Participate in production support activities, including on-call rotations for urgent incidents when required.
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to a culture of automation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work within an AI-enabled engineering environment by leveraging modern AI tools to improve productivity and create efficient workflows.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong DevOps, cloud, and automation expertise. You should have a proven ability to build reliable systems, work with modern infrastructure technologies, and collaborate effectively in fast-paced engineering environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, build/release engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong programming experience with Golang and/or Python, with knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, including services like EC2, EKS, or ECS.
  • Deep understanding of Git workflows, including branching, merging, and version control best practices.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Artifactory.
  • Experience building automation using Terraform and Unix shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, dashboards, and centralized logging solutions such as Grafana, SignalFX, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of application security best practices and secure software delivery processes.
  • Experience developing software with strong test coverage and supporting continuous deployment practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Experience with open-source technologies such as Drupal, MySQL, or Apache is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies is preferred.
