Required Qualifications:

• Strong expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and Android Automotive platform integration

• Strong experience in C/C++ software development

• Willingness to travel occasionally to the client's office in Germany

• Experience working with Linux and/or QNX environments

• Strong knowledge of multimedia and video software architecture

• Experience with video streaming technologies, including MP4, fMP4, HTTP-based media delivery, and MPEG-DASH

• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs

• Experience with multithreaded and asynchronous software architectures

• Good understanding of:

• Video codecs such as H.264/H.265

• Media pipelines and multimedia frameworks

• Metadata and playlist management

• Persistent storage and data lifecycle concepts

• IPC mechanisms and service-oriented architectures

• Automotive cybersecurity and secure communication concepts

• System-level integration between applications, middleware, OS, and hardware

Nice to Have:

• Hands-on experience with QNX-based automotive platforms

• Experience with multimedia frameworks such as GStreamer, FFmpeg, Android MediaCodec, or equivalent technologies

• Experience integrating camera/video sources in embedded systems

• Knowledge of adaptive streaming technologies, particularly MPEG-DASH

• Familiarity with automotive development processes such as ASPICE

• Experience working with SoC/platform vendors and automotive Tier-1 suppliers

Project Description:

We are looking for a Lead Android Automotive (AAOS) Engineer to support the development of multimedia and video software solutions for automotive platforms. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining multimedia components and backend services operating across Android Automotive, Embedded Linux, and QNX environments. The project covers end-to-end video ingestion, processing, storage, streaming, and lifecycle management, as well as integration with Android IVI applications, vehicle interfaces, platform services, and security frameworks. The position requires close collaboration with distributed development teams, suppliers, and technical stakeholders.

Scope of Services:

• Design, implement, and maintain multimedia and video software components and backend services for automotive platforms

• Develop solutions operating across Android Automotive, Embedded Linux, and QNX environments

• Own end-to-end video ingestion, processing, storage, streaming, and lifecycle management

• Implement and maintain media storage solutions based on MP4/fMP4 and related container technologies

• Develop HTTP/DASH streaming solutions, REST APIs, playlist management, metadata handling, and thumbnail generation capabilities

• Integrate multimedia services with Android IVI applications, vehicle interfaces, platform services, and security frameworks

• Drive cross-functional system integration and resolve dependencies between applications, middleware, OS, and hardware layers

• Analyze and troubleshoot multimedia, streaming, performance, stability, latency, resource-utilization, and storage-related issues

• Support integration, testing, technical reviews, validation, and deployment on target automotive hardware

• Collaborate with distributed development teams, suppliers, and technical stakeholders
