PRIMARY PURPOSE: Advance decision-making quality across the business organization in partnership with our concessionaire through strategic analysis. Execute and improve both organizations’ critical analytics functions (e.g., product development/pricing/analysis/profit margin, data management, business intelligence, inventory management). Drive profitable improvements in the customers' concession experience by translating data into actionable insights and operational advancement. Partner with Guardians and Concessionaire relevant departments to develop and implement descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses that support Strategic Priorities across each organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Improve and maintain critical business functions including, but not limited to, pricing of all products, sales- and transaction-level forecasting, business reporting (i.e., PowerBI), fraud alert/monitoring, and customer behavior modelling.
  • Enhance back-end commissary operational efficiencies by leveraging location-level transaction and inventory data
  • Maintain excellent documentation and communication both within the Guardians and in partnership with the Concessionaire to generate buy-in and long-term stability of core processes.
  • Coordinate with Guardians and Concessionaire market research functions to develop ongoing research initiatives that inform strategic decisions, including price sensitivity surveying.
  • Analyze and present data from sources including ticket sales, food and beverage sales, survey responses, and employee hiring for applications such as ticket offerings, budget planning, and Game Day operations for both the Club and Concessionaire.
  • Translate data into digestible and informative business intelligence dashboards in Tableau, aligning dashboard design with organizational standards for cross-product consistency.
  • Approach business challenges and questions from a quantitative and analytical perspective, using data to identify process improvements and develop clear recommendations.
  • Synthesize and communicate actionable insights through written, visual, and interactive mediums.
  • Partner with Information Systems to identify opportunities to enrich and/or grow our customer database, drive data classification, accuracy, and accessibility across in-park revenue streams.
  • Identify, organize, analyze, and present data from sources including ticket sales, food and beverage sales, merchandise, social media interaction, survey responses, performance media, email interactions, and additional sources for marketing applications.
  • Drive data classification, accuracy, and accessibility to enable greater analytics efficiency.
  • Maintain a cadence of reporting between Concessionaire and Club to ensure performance of food and beverage is being communicated often and transparently.
  • Track new concepts, menu items and initiatives to judge impact and recommend insight-based continuation/cessation.
  • Answer all ad-hoc Club queries related to food and beverage in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with league-wide peers and concessionaire leaders to assess opportunities and implement them within the Guardians ecosystem.
  • Work across departments on promotions and sponsorships, providing information to assess impact across our fans, operator, and financials.
  • Gather and disseminate best practices from concessionaire and MLB.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:

  • Assist in the growth of adoption and learning across tools and technologies within dedicated department.
  • Provide thought leadership on building best-in-class, revenue-driving initiatives, collaborating with assigned team to execute.
  • Oversee the test and learn process for executing targeted efforts synthesizing results for key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain key KPIs to quantify the value of results.
  • Collect and compile disparate datasets from across out data assets to develop a holistic understanding of our data, partnership with IS team to operationalize these data feeds & pipelines.
  • Assist in annual strategic planning, identifying strategic focus areas.
  • Support external collaboration with MLB and relevant third parties to learn best practices, new capabilities, and troubleshooting techniques.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or other relevant field (mathematics, operations research, information science, etc.) is required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years internship or work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL, and R/Python (or equivalent). Business Intelligence presentation software (Tableau, PowerBI etc.), CRM and Customer Data Platforms are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-based providers (i.e., AWS, BigQuery, Azure) as well as data intelligence platforms (i.e., Databricks, Snowflake) are a plus.
  • Experience using quantitative tools and analytic methods in a professional setting for functions such as financial modelling, survey data analysis, product design, pricing, impact forecasting or organizational decision making preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and deliver superior results.

The expected annual salary range for this position is 58,421.87- 65,214.93. This range serves as a general guideline; actual compensation will be determined based on candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
