Purpose and Scope:
This is a part-time and temporary position not to exceed 28 hours per week. The employee will act as a mentor, resource, and coach new managers and hires within Quality and Manufacturing Organizations. Lead and support quality project initiatives and assist in rotation or high-profile heats. Ideal candidate brings deep expertise in audit standards during production and experience in quality related capital projects.
Responsibilities include:
• Act as a mentor, resource and coach within Quality and Manufacturing organizations.
• Train and mentor new hires, managers, and operators regarding quality standards and practices such as EAF, refining, and solidification.
• Assist in quality project initiatives
• Assist in rotation for high profile heats
• Apply technology to caster release processes and act as lead for quality needs
• Audit standards during production to redefine best practices.
• Assist in potential capital project work for quality perspective.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 20 years of experience in Quality and Metallurgy in a steel manufacturing environment
• Expert knowledge of steelmaking process and process improvement
