Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and possess 2-5 years of experience in financial reporting and modeling. Proficiency in SQL, DAX, Power BI, and advanced Excel is required, along with a strong understanding of IFRS and the full accounting cycle.

Full description

  • The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the financial reports and dashboards that will be used to review budget, actual and forecasts by leadership

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Work with the finance team to understand the data requirements and create automated data reports for monthly financial statements, budget, and forecasts

•Develop dashboard for KPI and key financial metrics that will be driven from our Jonas ERP platform and shared with leadership team

•Experience in building out full scale financial packages (P&L Balance Sheet and Cash flow) for a multi-currency, consolidated company with multiple subsidiaries and divisions using DAX/SQL to link various databases

•Ability to understand and navigate a changing and complex business environment in building out financial models to develop what if scenarios as part of the analysis

•Work collaboratively with other Finance team members, specifically to meet reporting deadlines and improve existing processes

•Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards

•Resolve outstanding issues and troubleshoot unbalanced transactions

•Frequent liaison with all levels of the Senior Management Team

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

•High level of proficiency in Excel is a requirement

•CPA designation (or enrollment) is an asset

•Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Excel & Power BI Reporting,

•Experience using Jonas software is an asset

•2-5 years' experience building out financial statements, models and dashboards

•Foreign Exchange/multi-currency exposure is an asset.

•Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position doing similar functions leading up to and including the duties defined in this job description

•Complete knowledge and practical experience of full accounting cycle

•Sound knowledge and experience of IFRS accounting, financial planning, budgeting & forecasting and financial reporting

•Strong analytical skills with an ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers

•Good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Jonas (an asset) along with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically excel.

•Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial, and local requirements regarding financial recording and record retention, and the like is essential.

WORKING CONDITIONS

•Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

•Overtime as required.

•Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
