Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
- 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
- 1 year of experience as a product manager for consumer hardware or wearables.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience building and shipping features for wearables or sensor-driven mobile experiences, including cross-device user journeys between smartphones and secondary devices.
- Experience collaborating with external technology partners, hardware OEMs, or 3P systems integrators.
- Technical understanding of contactless NFC, mobile payments, and embedded Secure Elements.
- Basic familiarity with physical access control protocols and smart card encryption technologies (e.g., MIFARE, Seos, Aliro).

The Google Wallet team focuses on creating a secure digital wallet that unlocks the world around you, both in person and online. Core to this mission is digitizing the critical credentials people carry daily—including payment cards, loyalty, identity, transit, and physical access. Once digitized, Wallet aims to provide real-time, contextual information to create personalized experiences and serve as a helpful, secure storage hub that enriches everyday transactions.
In this role, you will bring together two high-impact charters under one Product Manager: Wallet on wearables and Access Control. Each product area has a dedicated engineering team and independent roadmap. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious Product Manager to operate as the product owner of two distinct portfolios, gaining career-broadening exposure across different domains.
Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Partner with dedicated Wearables engineers to innovate across Wallet on smartwatches and fitness trackers.
- Lead product initiatives to make tapping from the wrist faster and more delightful than tapping via phone, leverage AI to make the Wallet on wearables experience more intuitive.
- Drive the expansion of Google Wallet across the wearables ecosystem to new users and devices.
- Focus on digitizing physical security credentials to enable access across applications like corporate badges, campus IDs, residential real estate, and hotel keys on both phone and wearable devices.
- Help modernize and scale our access infrastructure, innovate user onboarding, and expand usage of open industry standards for physical access like Aliro.
