That’s a lot of responsibility, but you will have the support and resources of industry leader behind you every step of the way.
This position supports senior leadership within the Optum Capital organization, with responsibility for developing and maintaining financial capital reports across Optum businesses. Optum Capital reporting will also be provided to UHG finance leadership teams.
This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.
This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST, Monday - Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget
- Develop, perform and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Produce clear, well-formatted reports and presentations that communicate a clear, compelling message for management
- Assist with management reporting and system reconciliation
- Support SG&A and IT Finance in reporting and analytics
- Assist with periodic forecast and budget creation for business leadership
- Participate on special projects and ad hoc financial requests

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 6+ months of Financial OR Analytical experience (academic OR professional)
- Financial acumen and P&L management skills
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office product suite
- Ability to work 4 times per week at 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN
- Ability to work any of our full time, shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends given the business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills
- Experience with using Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Reside within commutable distance to the office at 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $49,700 - $88,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
